#Split

This is actually very cool
y'know, this doesn't actually sound too impossible, changing the structure size could cause some weird physics mishaps though
mmm, that would mean more models tho
Yeah
I wonder how it could work while doing hold or flick, would it hold/flick both or would it pick one
Both would be sick
feel like it would break it out of hold/flick
same way grounding/ungrounding removes hold
It could spilt cubes into walls, walls into pillars, pillars into balls, and balls into discs so no new models
But that’s kinda cringe
yeah, saw that suggestion before, it wasn't too popular
this move has also been suggested before, I forget what it was called though
It was a stone I believe
I feel like physically cutting the structure in half would be sick, it would also be cool as a defensive move. Like if a structure is coming at you and you split it, the two halves go past you instead of the whole structure hitting you
Imagine the aura of splitting a wall and launching the halves
it'd be sick ngl
You could disc and then spilt the disc like a shotgun
0 damage split disc omg
its just asking to railgun urself
Lmao
damage should definitely decrease when you split
Definitely
so I feel like split disc shouldn't be able to do damage when moving
0 damage disc are funny as hell
but if it still causes hitstop, and you hit an incoming structure with them, itll just railgun it towards u
easy opponent setup railguns ⬆️
btw, is rumble talk still on fire? haven't been pinged yet
iunno lol
hmm, I'll wait then lmao
anyways, I like the idea of the move, but I'm not sure how much use it has other than railguns
not quite, would it work on two regular structures? would they have to be the same, or would it only work on split structures?
I was thinking any 2 structures of the same type
gotcha, to make an extra big structure
Yup
hmm, y'know, something like this and split could be fun
and any physics weirdness could probably be dealt with with a little tweaking
I'd want it to be strictly changing the size of the structure though, no halves of anything
It would be dope if merge moved the objects together like a magnet before merging
hmm, could you technically also use it defensively? like say you get a wall thrown at you, you spawn a wall and wait for them to get close enough, then merge
Yes that’s what I’m thinking
Half the momentum would carry over to the merged structure
hmmm
one thing I'm worried about is the visuals
most of the game feels very crunchy and hard, the structures either break or they don't
so making them morph into one another would feel out of place
If they snapped together with some dust to obscure it a little I think it would fit
ok, I see it
btw, while split would break hold and flick, I feel like merge would keep them both, so if you had a ball held in each hand, merging would give you one big ball held by both
also, no merging between grounded and ungrounded structures
almost feel like merging should be an ungrounded only thing, and splitting should unground a structure as well
idk why, just the feeling I get
oh right, funny damage values
hmm
splitting should divide damage by 2 and rounds down with disc being the exception of -1(no funny negative damage healing shenanigans)
merging should multiply by 1.5 and round up, disc of course not going higher than 0 cause 0
all my opinion ofc
but that way we'd get the damage values of (bear with me)
default | moving/grounded | moving+grounded
split: /2 round down
disc = -1(doesn't heal) | 0 | 1
ball = 0 | 1 | 2
pillar = 0 | 1 | 2
cube = 1 | 2 | 3
wall = 1 | 2 | 3
merge: *1.5 round up
disc = 0 | 1 | 2
ball = 2 | 3 | 4
pillar = 2 | 3 | 4
cube = 3 | 4 | 5
wall = 5 | 6 | 7
these numbers feel a bit wonky, but with mass change for them I don't think they're too bad
disc gets no love though
this does mean we'd get funny giant wall that does boulder damage though
could also ignore the funny math and just do plus and minus 1 damage to structure if merge or split
would mean wall gets evened out a bit and disc gets default one damage when merged
I feel wall would be kinda overpowered but all the other numbers are great
We could cap merge damage at like 4 default
But I really like this, would be dope as hell in the game
uhm im going to give the most reasonable take on this
this is not going to be added 💔
Fair, it's pretty out there, good to explore ideas though
true
You could do a dynamic model split but that could cause some real glitches
Like having a structure of any size could be really OP
Imagine a sliver of a sliver of a cube that's one pixel thick and can slide under other structures
yo this is peak
they should add this
