Pretty sure this is just drifting. This happens when you're not standing where you last centered your playspace and you stick turn while dashing
If you snap turn 180, you actually teleport, lol

Ring was intended to be impossible to recover bc that's the literal point of ring, control the center or lose.

Which is why I think the current solution of death on touching the outer geometry of the ring is great. Regardless of whether you get quicksand or not or even if there was a new way to recover from falling off, you touch the outside, you lose
They need less kill walls
And no kill ceilings
