i dont think the formation is too important. even at the start of the season when we played 4222 gnabry (one of the 2 st) often dropped off to basically be an AM making it look like a 4231.

for me the real issues have been finishing, building out from the back while heavily pressed, and managing minutes considering our depth while still being able to dominate.

i think that 2/3 of these issues are trickier than they seem and need a little time to figure out, even if you could argue that they could've been handled better so far.
