It depends on the league, the players and the product fans are getting. Personally for EPL, hell no but idc if there is an all star game in some other league, if its watchable and players actually care about it, I am all in
also almost every football league isnt a closed league like we have in major US leagues so idk how would they impliment it honestly
a 35 and older vs u21 would be fun
No way
I think it'd be exciting
But weird 😭
Chemistry wouldn't be there so may not be that good
Ofc bruh then we can see who's the real star in Them
Weird but could be interesting. Wondeer how an Indian Super League Team would fare against the UCL TOTS
Question 71
If you could bring one lower-league club back to their country’s top division right now, which one would you choose?
<@&1392052021108146207>
Ofc
My role says it all
Schalke, so we have Ruhrderby again
Reading FC
palermo
Schalke back to Bundesliga
Astra Giurgiu🗿
Schalke obviously
Bursaspor
Palermo and fc südtirol will win this season
sudtirol never
Schalke
Luton Town or Schalke 04
Girondins bordeaux
Sochaux
1860 München/Nürnberg back to the bundesliga so we (Bayern) can make them suffer and luton town back to the pl would be good asw
Boavista ⚫ ⚪
leeds is already back we're going to win the prem this year trust
Coventry for someone different
idk
Schalke
Swansea or Malaga
Wisła Kraków back to Ekstraklasa
I will say multiple clubs
Doxa dramas, Panachaiki, Kalamata, Ergotelis, Niki Volou, Panionios, Egaleo, Panthrakikos and Kastoria
But I want Doxa dramas the most
Clydebank in Scotland
1860 Münich, need to humble bayern you know 🤣 🍻
Malaga
Schalke
Reading, Real Zaragoza, Sporting Gijon
norwich
SV WALDHOF MANNHEIM 07
Moghred Tétouan
Swansea
Malagaa
Queens park rangers
Blackburn Rovers
It has to be Leicester City getting back to the Premier League
Good question but imo Luton 🤝 they deserve that
Would love to see real valladolid back in laliga
Schalke
watford
Perak
Bordeaux 🫠
Waldhof Mannheim
No, it's no fun. It won't feel comeptitive at all so it's nothing exciting to me
Leicester city
Question 72
Pafos, a club from Cyprus, and Kairat, a club from Kazakhstan, have qualified for the UEFA Champions League this season. How do you feel about such underdog clubs fighting against all odds and qualifying for the biggest club competition in the world?
<@&1392052021108146207>
uhh
idk
happy for smaller teams to pull of such performances👏🏻
I like guys
Both beautiful stories
Safe to say the 9-2 record has a real chance of getting broken this season!
It's an amazing thing to see them do well but im sure they won't qualify even for the knock outs
Happy for pafos I've been there fantastic place
Really nice to see smaller teams to qualify
THIS IS MY TEAM
PAFOS
isnt kazakhstan bordering russia and near china, how on earth are they in europe
i hope pafos gets drawn with arsenal, david luiz starts against arsenal, and then loses like 10-0 because he realized how shit he is at defending and gets 2019-2021 arsenal lockdown PTSD
but i love to see it
take this back
i think its time you took geography classes
they would beat chelsea and arsenal
but look where they are
they border china dude
bomboclat
theyre a euroasian country likes russia and turkey
then why doesnt russia play?
Cuz of the war
theyr banned
holy i forgot they had an invasion going on
It’s something nice you know
This format really shows that small teams can qualify
And Pafos can deliver a bigger upset
So yeah it’s something nice
but yeah usually russia plays in european qualifiers
good for them
They're going to be absolutely battered in the group stage but fair play for them making it this far
It's like meh
Really good
Big W very unexpected and very deserved
Kairat feels like a fever dream
We're happy for Pafos 🔥
For Kairat Nobody Cares
😂
Both teams showed that everything is possible in football
Happy for them, well deserved and even if they don't make it out of the group they'll get to enjoy UCL money for the very first time
they got potential honestly, they might do great in the UCLS
Great, but they won't get far
no comments!
You know, European competition qualifiers is always unpredictable. Especially for Kairat, can't wait to see the longest away day in UCL history
I think there's a slight chance that Kairat will finish 24th
But who knows?
I feel great, finally more diversity
Pure magic
Gg for them
We can finally have some unknown small clubs coming again
Bodo also qualify himself
That's excellent news
New teams for the cl are always welcome
Watch psg getting them both in group stages 💀
Now I see why Joa Pedro wanted to join a UCL team
But my beloved Sherrif Tiraspol didn't so no one cares about some random team
You see if you wanted to get big reactions they should have gave Sherrif Tiraspol a smaller team like one these guys
But of course these corrupted people give us a team that shouldn't even be in the UCL phase draw
its incredible because they're giving us fm saves
i am fucking fuming.
it is the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE not the tiny clubs no one knows league
they’ve got no place there
hope they all get record breaking batterings and go back to irrelevancy
I love it every club deserves to make history
I hope this is satire
would you want afghanistan stinking up the world cup
didn’t think so
same applies here
these small clubs taking up space that could be used for actual good teams
Qarabag now joined the club
It’s very nice tbh, seeing small teams having chances as I said
And Uefas new format helps
Tbh the other guys are quite right
Most of us who aren't from these countries are gonna forget them the same match they get knocked out tbh
We all like underdogs, lets just keep Gillingham away from Europe
Low-key curious to see how well they'll perform in europe's biggest stage, wishing them the best of luck but if they come up against Madrid, no mercy. 🤝
played against a celtic who passes backwards every second of the game - good win for them but i dont expect them to go through at all
Question 73
How did you feel about the league-stage format of the Champions League last year? Has it made the competition better or worse compared to the traditional group stage?
<@&1392052021108146207>
more games more fun
-# not for the players
Better 8 games from 8 different teams than 6 games from 3 different teams. It makes it more fun
how many pings do u get a day
Initially i hated the new format
But its fine after experiencing it last year
It actually made the tournament more entertaining ngl
More games at the cost of players having less time to recover, but the format itself is very fun and much more chaotic than before, the play-offs toss-up was also a great added concept
more fun
but i liked the old one
i prefer it more because it makes the race to secure a top 8 place more fun
It's very confusing but clearly it does work
But I guess the old group stage is still okay
Instead of 6 games we get 8, we get interesting round of 32 playoffs, so it makes it better
I really miss the days where you can actually get relegated to the Europa League if you finish 3rd in the group
I feel like making like a league table system is good because every goal matters and every win matters since before if you won 3 or 4 games you can lose or draw the rest which made it boring
It has made it better and more unpredictable
better for the ‘qualifiers’ teams, since the new format we had 5 debutants
That’s better in my opinion
better but the only thing that should be changed is the round of 32 draw
this new league-stage is such a cool idea I hope it stays
teams ranked from 9th to 16th should be in the same pot and those from 17th to 24th in another
go back to the old format the players are tired as hell
makes it fun to watch the table update over time
yh this
and teams from the same country can't play eachother
More games but players will get tired
more competitiveness honestly
Its ok but I prefer the groups
A lot better and a lot more fun too
I clearly prefer 8 games rather than the group stage that had only 6
Idk my team was in the Conference League so I didn't really pay attention
I still prefer the group stages
whoever says group stages is a nostalgia merchant
i still prefer groups
not cuz nostalgia
Same
the top four of the league phase should get some advantage imo
like they should benefit from finishing there
liverpool finished first but they had to place psg in their first ro16
I find this format very confusing but yes it's better and more competitive than the previous format.
Imo
It's pretty good
Better than the classical group stage you can find in the wc
It's unique and makes even more big matches
I'd say they should not change it anymore and stick to this one
Only the qualifying round should be changed otherwise the new format makes it more entertaining
better
its tbh better than prev
More games more time for me to be a lazy prick
Great for us, bad for players, especially those who held records previously in the ucl that won’t hold them anymore since this format has more games
Question 74

Question 77

Question 78
Now that the transfer business in the top European leagues is done, which club do you think did the best business this summer?
<@&1392052021108146207>
Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool becoming crazy rich overnight and signing the likes of Wirtz and Isak
Liverpool obv
Liverpool
Born to say sunderland forced to say liverpool
Couldn't give a crap
by farrrr Liverpool, good lord the money they've spent is absurd
Tottenham/Liverpool but more Tottenham
that Xhaka signing came from nowhere but there's so kind of magic about it that's making sunderland so likeable
liverpool deff
Liverpool, but no bias that Athletic had a historic window signing more players than ever, with even laporte being on the way 👀
Liverpool
I don't know about the best but I have a really solid opinion about who had the worst.
Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool and it would have been much more better if they got guehi
liverpool
Manchester United
Liverpool
They have oil money🤑🤑🤑
Forza milan
We signed Masca so it’s def us
liverpool
Barca bc you’ll see at the end of the season.
Liverpool for sure
Liverpool for sure
But city's transfer window was underrated, got young GK's , got 2 ballers, a lb and sent yound talent on loan
Also United got rid of a lot of deadwood
Liverpool
delusion
we are fucked actually
I think Real Madrid
Ngl I'm not gonna be basic ima say Sega for Arsenal
forest
Liverpool did well, even if I'm not fan of it
But Gyokeres in Arsenal was also good
How can I accept such insults before the derby with Chelsea ?
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Liverpool by a mile
liverpool
Racing Strasbourg
Al nassr
Arsenal
Prem is now the most competitive football league itw sheesh
Question 79
If you could change one moment in the last 10 years of football, what would it be?
<@&1392052021108146207>
Ronaldo to Juventus
Liverpool getting relegated
Or Ronaldo going back to Manchester United
Fenerbahçe - Olympiakos Bonucci penalty miss
Umtiti doesn't score the header against Belgium in the Semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup
.
dembele scoring the goal against liverpool in 2019
Chelsea remain champions years and years to come
El yamiq score that bycycle against france
Oh yeah and man city getting relegated
just let croatia win the world cup bro
That missed chance at old Trafford…
If we had made 3-1 we would be through at UCL quarters
The 2015 UCL final,Pogba not getting a clear penalty after a foul in the box
Payet not getting injured during the 2018 UEL final
Fr that roberry is forgoten
hazard to madrid
Let that Kolo Muani shot go in
UCL final 2019 result
Ronaldo to juve
UCL 2019 semifinals
I'd like to see a Barcelona vs Ajax final
hoeness agreeing in signing neymar in 2015
Keeping Kroos would've been better
Hazard to Madrid
Kroos retiring
Benzema ban💔
Penaltys Argentina France 2022 final
2015 cl final not getting a pen
Anfield. 2019. Semifinal 2nd leg.
Permanent scar on my soul that will never fade away.
The last 10 years of football would’ve been better if VAR didn’t kill the drama
Ronaldo to manu he should’ve went to city
I always say The Miracle of blah blah
Anyways change liverpool's comebacks against us
But the last 10 years?
I'm gonna say something basic ronaldo to man united again
He should've went to another club
saka pen vs italy 2021
city winning the treble
Rashford to Barcelona
I hate him so much
"last 10 years of football"
Lewandowski winning the ballon d'or in 2020
how can you wish something to change that never happened?
For our important players not to be injured in the 2018 MLS Cup playoffs which would of helped us make the final where we had the stronger team to win it...
For him to win it*
Worded it poorly mb
Mbappe and Neymar wasted chances in final 2020
World Cup 2022 Round Of 16 Portugal 6-1 Switzerland
Some say it's not normal for Sommer to concede so many goals in one match but that match said otherwise for me
Lamine doesn't miss any shot against Sommer and Barca wins against Inter.
It isnt a question...
.
Lucas Moura’s third goal against Ajax
Macaulay langstaff stays at gateshead
That photo
CR7 to Juve
Olmo not saving the goal in the euros final
💀
?
Barca wins 10 ucl in a row
Croatia wins the WC 2018 final. We need an underdog to actually win the world cup
people should understand that the question isn't about what you wish or desire, it is about something that has happened in the last 10 years and shouldn't have happened against your desire
Messi won 2018 wc
Liverpool
Question 80
What old stadium that no longer exists do you miss the most?
<@&1392052021108146207>
technically still exists but the old bernabeu
i dunno
aura of old camp nou is unmatched
but the renovation was necessary for safety reasons
the Containers stadium of 2022 Qatar worldcup
Meaning? I assumed that they wanted to add additional VIP seats and also some lower cost seating
I did not know that safety was one of the causes or THE cause for renovation of Camp Nou
The full renovated version will have a roof
a cover in case it rains during matches
Old Benfica stadium (+120.000/record 135.000)
Ok it’s from the 90s before I was born, but Love street -St Mirren, away days were pretty good apparently
the main cause was obviously higher revenue
from the extended capacity
Camp nou without spotify💔 💔 💔 so sad bro they be selling it on barca store
Highbury Square or maybe the old Camp Nou
maine road
Parkstadion Schalke
hahaha ikr barka broke ass club selling grass on their store
Maybe my team Ofi Crete winning the cup final in May 2024 or saving us from relegation beacuse of financial problems in 14/15 season
At least it’s a replica of a stadium
Some more old stadiums that I miss:
Vicente Calderon (Atleti)
Boleyn Ground (West Ham)
White Hart Lane (Spurs)
Donbas Arena
Not tuff
Vicente Calderón, Atlético's old stadium
Idk
Idk
White hart lane
Idk
Boleyn or Silverdome
yes
That one
Camp nou🥹
Prolly for the sake of the club, West Ham have been ruined since moving to the London Stadium. Bring back Upton offcourse
Croatia winning the world cup in 2018
Croatia sucks without rakitic
Boleyn... Worst move ever
Question 81
Now that the transfer window is closed, what do you think is the weakest spot in your favourite team, and how should the team’s coach fix it?
<@&1392052021108146207>
Right Back
I think I did not had any
Sign Livramento for 140M £
Here, for me, there are no weaknesses for our level
we honestly dont need anything
Barcelona defense, striker
we're good
Defense is problematic
Right back
For Barça
It isn't bad it's just not as good as the other spots in the team
Striker or left back
midfield
Benfica - Midfield -> Barreiro
rw
right back pls cant see nunes and lewis every week😭
you know damn well the man in the picture wasnt the weakness in this side
midfield
Wirtz is ass
Melbourne victory, we don't have a good striker (although our transfer window is still open)
Centreback or leftback, we got Kerkez i think a bit too agressive in some situations on LB but after adapting shld be just fine, also Konate didn't started very well but if Slott gonna play Leoni more often i think it should be perfect
Tbf it used to be our defence but we signed some good defenders for my team level so in the future I will see the weakness of my club
LW and get a touchline winger and play false 9
or get a big name pure 9 and keep Raphinha on inside forward role and Balde in game winger
get a back up lb cuz balde is made of glass
Midfield
Bho
CB, guehi's signing would've made it secure
Barca
cb
regularly play christensen, cubarsi, and eric garcia and hope for any injury to not happen, and wait for winter transfer marker to open
I think no weak spot cus barcelona
For Arsenal not really worried about much. For Red Bulls… a new RB or solid CB would have been nice….
cb and Allegri should utilize Odogu and De Winter
Centre forward, this club could do wonders if someone was capable of scoring up front.
All the defenders have scored before the strikers so far this season. 😭
Lcb position, really sucks how Juve didn't get another good defender
Our attack doesn't really look that good, sure we have vini and an out of position mbappe but no one stable on the right wing
Our defense (except for the fullbacks)
Cb
Our Defense, anything is better than nothing(Kelly)
Cb(Tah) and cm (Goretzka)
Would’ve get guehi
CB for milan
Overrall defense is pretty ahh and especially center back who are not defending properly no pressing just nothing
Allegri should've signed more cbs and needs to play with 4 defenders
Not his 3-5-2 bullshit
Striker gyokeres is not it so far
Defense
Tbh our defense just needs to be better on set pieces
CB, unless Ordonez decides to play once more we've def got a void in the defense that Spileers unfortunately can't fully fill, plus we could use the extra defensive depth
CB Chelsea
Or a new GK
right back lol how the hell do we trust trent at RB when all he is the onana of world RBs
PSG: GK or strikers/wingers
Would be Cdm but Amrabat joined so now its right back
Right back
Js sign someone young and good like Livramento
I’m still not 100% on Robert Sanchez but I’d have to say goalkeeper
For a man united a new keeper and club America a striker or attacker and Real Madrid a new midfielder
dlp
Chevalier team of the season in Ligue 1 saved 2 pens last week
much better
I feel like he needs to prove himself before I can say he’s better
At least in my opinion
He has already proven himself in the last 2 seasons
midfield as of now but goalkeeping is one aswell untill we watch lammens or bayindir play consistantly well set pieces and stuff
cam
BUY NOT SELLING 10 MIDFIELDERS MAYBE?!
the window in RPL isnt closed yet. and we need a striker
Lw, BUY A LW
60% of Scudetto winners in the last 15 years have won playing a 3-5-2
Matty Cash playing right back.
Fix it by playing one of the other 3 players that can play right back there.
center back bc we have no depth due to yeray awaiting punishment and egiluz being out... and if it wasnt for stingy al nassr that couldve been fixed by now
Well the difference between old scudetto winners is that they actually had the players to use a 3-5-2 formation
And not milan. Especially since this one has nothing of milan no creativity no identity it's nothing close to milan's style of play and allegri should do another formation
A 4-2-3-1 is the best Formation for milan imo
we’d probably be more creative in a 4-2-3-1 but i’d be worried about our defense
a 3-5-2 is way more solid defensively
and defensive solidity should be our priority after these past couple of seasons
then when you have players like Leao and Pulisic in attack you will be creative
one thing that Allegri does is leave his players to express themselves on the pitch
LW by far, and even then we still have one of the best in league one
I think we did fine enough
For me (Real Madrid), its nothing prolly. I am happy with the team we have
We have this shark and lewa.
My club can't climb on top of the table is not bc of any players
But laliga.
sharkk 🦈 🦈
PSG- CM
Burnley- CB or ST
Defense
Question 82
Do you enjoy the international breaks during the club season, or do you feel they disrupt the flow of football too much? If not, what would be your ideal solution?
<@&1392052021108146207>
enjoy
enjoy it
Enjoy it ofc
All international breaks at winter and summer break
I don't enjoy it but what can we do, qualifiers have to be played
I enjoy them
Not a big fan
love it
They disrupt the flow and get players injured, waste of time
Enjoy it
International football is alright but it basically puts the season on hold
I don't enjoy it but they need to play the qualifiers somehow 🤷♂️
can't just invite all 193 countries to every world cup can they
I’m Scottish
people who say international breaks are useless are just actually stupid
i dont enjoy it all, but it is important for the major international competitions.
why does it fucking matter
Do I need to say anything?
football is football
I prefer it to be in a school brake
instead of just random days
Enjoyed heavily
International breaks are actually.... kinda good
depends entirely on what fixtures are being played, i get why a lot of people don't like them but realistically there's no feasible alternative to them
the "just play all the qualifiers in one window" thing people suggest is insane
theyre really good
I like them personally + they are really important for international competitions to have a fair list of participants as well
Interesting but not 3 weeks after club season started 💀
Shouldve waited a bit longer
its like this virtually every season
its always early mid september
then sometime in november
then a bit in march
I hate them
i hate them
i know its unavoidable and necessary but i dont like it
maybe keep it at a different time not right after the season starts
Yeah but its bad
Wtf kind of suggestion is that 😭
people are idiots
yes
I enjoy it
Yeah I think they break the flow of a season but at the same time how are international matches going to be played if we can’t shove them in the schedule.
In reality it almost just mainly screws the bigger teams because their stars are getting called up and potentially injured. Not so much for smaller teams so I guess it’s a universal balance since most the time someone gets hurt
enjoying it with a Malaysian W 2 days ago
no absolutely hate is feels like there at too many
england fc are kinda shit asw 2 managers and they stillplay boring football with good players
I'm stuck in both sides
pause
I meant to say both sides are good
sure i love seeing Albania and Kosovo play
my national teams
Not much
enjoy it but it could de motivate players
I don't like it, it stops the normal ongoing football season and kills all the excitement and thrill.
My ideal solution is to make a mid season break in club football in January (when the winter transfer market is open,) and organize all international qualifiers and friendlies during that break.
it will also be ideal for non-European players who have to travel a lot for a 1-2 week international break every month
Idk what to say
Sunt neutru
loved them back when we didnt qualify
I enjoy it as long as i can watch messi play
I get why they exist but they are boring considering the matches we get
Midfield
enjoy
Question 83
Would you rather your team play beautiful football and win fewer trophies, or play boring football and win more?
<@&1392052021108146207>
Yes
Play beautiful football
First option.
Fuck trophies
Trophies 🏆🏆
trophies
Beautiful football
You beat celtic
My club plays beautiful football and wins a lot. They not like us.
I mean gateshead already play boring football so trophies also we need money
I enjoy Ligue 1 McDonald's but they don't win that much.
beautiful football
For the first time in 30 years. And we didn't play beautiful football
In recent years we did both and didn't win anything both times
Win trophies
So win trophies I'm tired of winning nothing every year
Play beautiful football and win fewer trophies
I am no glory hunter
I'd rather enjoy watching my team play week in week out and win a trophy here and there rather than just waiting for the trophies to arrive and find no actual joy in watching them
@gray tapir city neither winning trophies or playing beautiful football lmao
Under Inzaghi, we played some beautiful football.
But that won't be remembered as much as the lack of trophies will be.
History most of the time remembers success.
beautiful football
Teams that are used to win trophies will say more beautiful football, the others will say the trophies

yes as of now in 2017-18 we did both so that's what we need to start doing again 😭
I mean idk gateshead play boring football already so im used to it being boring but beautiful football would be good but atm we need trophies for money and fans
Pepball for 2026 💀
i can't force myself through another city game. watched a lot of clusterfucks last season
Benfica is not so used to trophies in the last years and I still said beautiful football
You win your league regularly tho
possession based slug fest
In the last 10 years we won like 4 or 5
Exactly what I said
Play beautiful football ofc
As a Citizen I crave for this we've won everything already let us be entertained
Pep's boring total football ahh
Not that fantastic there is a lot of competition for the championship
Beautiful football
So trust me I just wanna win something even a coupe de France or a trophée des champions
Good football is a bonus
But the rest of the trophies we are not winning too that easy
Yeah but you still won things
While we didn't
Ok ok but I still would prefer beautiful football if I was from a portuguese club with no championships
I have never seen my team win a trophy
What is your club?
Olympique de Marseille
Oh never mind
But it is still a very good club
Yes but we can't win shit
PSG is too strong
Win few trophies and play beautiful football of course
It's all about the entertainment of watching, titles come along the way
Beautiful answer
my team already plays beautiful football and wins trophies
can you rlly win trophies without playing beautiful football?
We won 2 world cups like this
Playing beautiful football is better
Greece won the euros by parking the bus
denmark won euros by just passing the ball back
🤷♂️
i'd rather boring football
not sure whether international football is the best benchmark
They should just play them at the end of the season but if they have a pre season series of some sort they could play it mid season but it just sucks having to wait for club football to be back
Boring football and win more 100%
we already play boring football and win f so play beautiful football and win more
trophies
Beautiful football is that seriously a question
more trophies
dependson how much fewer is, if its like a champions league or two and 2-3 premier leagues a decade or so, beautiful footbal
Trophies i swear let us win a WC 😭
We played prime ball in 2018 and got kicked by France tha was awful
Boring
we can play whatever prime football we want we're still fighting for 2nd every year
we have more chance to win UEL than a domestic trophy at this point
play boring football
Beautiful, trophies are nice but what's been lost in recent years is the beauty of the game
You know they always say quality over quantity, so for me winning a couple of trophies whilst playing beautiful football is a great thing
I don't care if we only win the prem or UCL, the only thing that matters is playing beautiful football with great tactics and a great coach as well
Win
Trophies if I were a player, but I want to watch beautiful football as a follower
people saying beautiful football are stupid
who gives a toss if the football looks good when you’re losing
First option ig
trophies
ive watched my club play well to bottle double crowns
play beautiful football and win trophies ❤️
Beautiful trophies, weve one enough as a Madridsta. Gotta let the other win more as well. Also using Corner FC for this photo (might imply they play beautiful football but win no trophies) is a crime
Beautiful
Question 84
Which golden generation do you think underachieved more: Belgium 2014–22 or England 2002–10?
<@&1392052021108146207>
England 2002-2010 without a doubt
England for sure
So much talent wasted
england
Perfect sqaud but won nothing
England
Chile 2014-2017. Did not qualify for the 2018 WC. Smh
Belgium was so epic
Belgium's golden generation best run was 3rd place in the World Cup. England's golden generation? Not even a semi-final finish in the World Cup.
Belgium
england
England, but my country's golden gen not winning anything still brings tears to my eyes 💔
england
belgiums golden gen imo loses out to englands golden gen in oure skill but was still beat
Unpopular opinion but Belguim deserved to win the 2018 WC. They played the best football overall. Shame they couldn't take their chances against France.
I will never forgive Umtiti
They didn't deserve to win it because they didn't win it
England
England team the same age as me already how tf am I supposed to know
england
Belgium
England
Belgium's golden generation had the most promising players, but by 2022 most of the players are already aging. They deserve to reach the World Cup final in 2018 over France
Imagine a World Cup final between the most underachieving golden generations in international football, Belgium vs Croatia
But if we're talking about the most underachieving golden generation, it has to be 2000s England
They even failed to qualify for the 2008 Euros
The 2000s was a painful decade for England fans, even though they've got the likes of Beckham and Gerrard
Euro 2000: Group stage
2002 World Cup: Quarterfinals
Euro 2004: Quarterfinals
2006 World Cup: Quarterfinals
Euro 2008: Did not qualify
2010 World Cup: Round of 16
Meanwhile, Belgium is just luckier
Belgium
2014 World Cup: Quarterfinals
Euro 2016: Quarterfinals
2018 World Cup: 3rd place
Euro 2020: Quarterfinals
2022 World Cup: Group stage
So yeah, in conclusion England was the more underachieving golden generation
Sorry for yapping too much
Eng managers in that period were the late Sven, McClaren and Capello - didn't help. However, they did underachieve.
yep glad someone agrees with me on their world cup run in 2018
The line ups for France and Belgium were v good. It's interesting to see the subs and how few of them became regulars in subsequent years.
What if Belgium played against Croatia in the 2018 WC final?
I think logic suggets Belgium would win but given that Croatia team and their mentality it would be difficult to call.Purely based on a hunch I would say Croatia. You?
Pretty sure Belgium's the better team
England 2002-10 for sure.
Belgium would've won. They had greater quality.
belgium had incredible players ngl...
Yeah but they still did well despite falling short
3rd place in 2018 is not terrible for Belgium. That england squad who had so many players we consider legends and hero's today failed to advance past the QF in 02' and 06' and R16 in 10'
06' got to be disappointing enough considering they lost on penalties to Portugal
Also don't forget they failed to qualify for 08' Euros
England
England
England no arguments
🇧🇪
Belgium.
🇧🇪
England
Belgium imo
hot take but people overstate how much belgium's golden generation underachieved. the only time they went into a tournament with one of the top 4 strongest squads in the tournament was in 2018 when they reached the semis, about as far as you'd expect them to get
other than euro 2016 and maybe the 2022 world cup when you look at who they got knocked out by they always got as far as could be expected of them
i'm hesitant to include 2022 in that because whilst they did get grouped they were also in the same group as two semi-finalists so they were clearly up against some really good opposition
Belgium, England's Golden Generation is right now, whether you like it or not, we've made back-to-back euros finals, our u21s have won back-to-back euro finals, and our U17s won the World Cup, so I don't even think England's golden generation was from 2002-2010.
countries can have more than one golden generation
England but belgium was also undoubtedly amazing, both incredible
Belgium knocked out of Euro 2016 by wales and 2022 wc by Morocco
Shoudve won Euro 2016
Englands golden generation got knocked out by similar or better ranked teams so not exactly a failure excepted euro 2008
Though they missed kompany in Euro 2016
Bottled in nations league too
A 4-1 lead vs Switzerland
This question is too traumatizing i aint reading replies no more 💀
Seaman, Ferdinand, Campbell, Neville, A. Cole, Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, Owen and others... How's that not golden generation?
Most of these are icons in ea
Good team in paper
But did not perform
Wc 2002 lost to Brazil (which is fair ig cuz Brazil was in prime)
Euro 2004 and wc 2006 lost to Portugal
Euro 2008 was most disappointing they didn't even qualified over Croatia and Russia???
Biggest L in history
Crotia, Russia - Just mog England (brutal)
England
Euro 2004 was a weird one because we got fucked over by the ref, Sol Campbell's goal should not have been ruled out
Question 85
Which retired player from the previous century would you have loved to watch live in today’s game, with modern coverage and analysis?
<@&1392052021108146207>
I think obvious answer is Pele
van basten with no injuries
Pavel Nedved
Prime Zidane 😮💨🔥
Eusebio
Young zlatan in the late 1990's.
🙄
Cruyff
Henry
Maradona and Cryuff
Supermokh
Maradona
Henry more of a early to mid 2000s player tbf
Beckenbauer would've also fit in smoothly with all the modern tactics and ideas
Maradona
Pre Injury Ronaldo Nazário, with modern medicine and sports science he'd be the best and most consistent forward to ever live
Yep I'm a R9 fann too
gianfranco zola
my goat kenny dalglish
Pele
Lamine Yamal
Marco van Basten
Superb striker
R9 if you count any player that played in the 1900s. My favourite of all-time.
If its someone who's entire career was in the 1900s, then Maradona or Cruyff.
Pele with HD picture quality 👌
I wasn't alive to see pele play unfortunately
Beckenbauer and Matthaus
Puskas and Beckenbauer
and Cruyff
cruyff
Endrick would say Bobby Charlton btw
Lev Yashin. There's no other goalkeeper like him
Pelé of course
R9
cruyff no doubt
kenny
Kenny Dalglish
Pelé
Ronaldo nazario
Maradona
Zidane
Cryuff easily
van basten
Cryuff
Pele and henry
And r9
the carpthanian maradona
Probably Platini
Van Basten (he could have had a nice competition with Ronaldo and Messi tbh)
Pelé
R9 or Thierry Henry
Karl Heinz Rum. , Gerd Muller, Denis Bergkamp, Cruyff, Rijkaard
I watched all of them
Pele
Marco Van Basten and R9
Cruijff
ronaldinho ofc
“Previous century”
Question 86
Which player from your team do you think is most underrated by your own fans?
<@&1392052021108146207>
amir murillo
Has to be tchoumeni
Lee Kang-In.
Tchoumeni
Reece James
Gavi
Tchouameni and Chiquinho
fofana
Murillo
foden
honestly idrk i'll just say ronaël julien pierre gabriel
long ass name, yes, but i feel like im the only one who likes this guy
Ben White
wait no everyone glazes foden
Weak bait
Rodrygo
Nice 1
fairly decent career so far hes only 27
Zubimendi😎
@merry lance is Reece James underrated?
McKennie
Provides versatility
not Yengi
But tbh I wanna say Nilsen, he may be shit at times but he can be decent as well
Does good job of a backup
Prolly one of the better answers
Gusto might be more underrated currently for us
oscar bobb
Ben white
But they still don't like him 🫠
Rodrygo seems like more overrated to me now than underrated
I say overrated cause people say sell Vini and put Rodrygo LW
HELL YES
Robert Sanchez has to be underrated tbf
Donnaruma
????
Donnaruma is so bad for Italy
Pavlovic
Maybe someone else like Tosin, Badiashile or even Liam Delap?
They should start playing DiGregorio instead
Barcelona none
Word, especially delap, he basically helps us to create chances like jackson, except delap decision making on the pitch and finishing is better than jackson
Araujo
Ugh
Hes bad tho isnt he?
Not been his best year, I hope he can turn things around
During Koeman era he was good
At least we loaned Jackson to Bayern
fair enough
Even a bit during Xavi
That was half a decade ago lmao
yea definitely tbf
Wait what 😭
As a Madridista it is Aurélien Tchouaméni
I mean he was decent for Xavi too
Valverde could be up there too
to an extent curtis jones
I'm gonna say Frenkie de Jong. Maybe it's just @craggy falcon but I've seen people slander him too much.
Agreed
Valverde ain't underrated
Perfectly rated
Everyone rates him
Everybody knows Valverde is hella rated
Brahim Diaz
Yes
Yes But he is appreciated but Aurélien Tchouaméni
for me it’s gotta be Ben White, he’s not mentioned enough when talking about solid Arsenal players currently
I'm gonna say Christensen too
