Quick question to those who already own the game. The trailers and such suggest you can only control Mametchi when going around the town, but I think that's not the case? Can you explore the town using other tamas? Which ones are available?

you have one main tama you move around but you can pick from i think Mametchi, Memetchi, Mimitchi, Kuchipatchi, Unimarutchi, and Bubbletchi. i think thats it. and you can change your main character any time

It's different from the actual title theme which is a full remake for Plaza

Cause it's just the rip from the 3DS remake which is the full recording of the original theme of CS1 uwu

I dunno if you saw my fun fact on it when we were sharing the code for the song, but it's interesting cause they recorded a full version of the song for the original game which used streamed audio, since it was a small DS game and could fit a couple, but they used a really short loop for some reason and the full wasn't heard till the 3DS remake

It used a pretty wild assortment of songs from CS1-CS4 (Kira Kira, not released outside JP)

And they had the high quality recordings of the CS1 soundtrack to use so we got clean, full versions of the songs with additional parts or instruments you couldn't recognize or were cut short from the original audio from the DS game

But for CS2 and CS3, the quality of the songs are a bit subpar which sucks :<

I realize tamagotchi plaza (and corner shop games) are massive in japan

The general “lore” is that they’ve been rivals since they were children (so not related, just knew each other from an early age, they appear to be neighbors in Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom).

They mainly argue over their hair, but they’re also best friends, so they’re always either hanging out with each other or fighting. Any time they fight, they always make up before inevitably fighting again.

Makiko especially takes great pride in this as she calls herself Memetchi’s “greatest rival”, and gets particularly upset in an episode of the anime where Memetchi has to move out of town (though this later turned out to be an April Fool’s prank by Memetchi).

During the series finale of the original run of the anime, there’s an “eggification curse” that turns Tamagotchi into lifeless eggs, the main gang has to restore the planet back to normal by expressing their greatest love/what means the most to them. The answers are pretty in-character, Mametchi says his family, Kuchipatchi says food, but Memetchi says she values her rivalry with Makiko most of all. When they reunite, they’re happy to see each other again and then immediately go back to arguing

Hi here! Sorry to bother you, may i ask a question ? I played corner shop when i was little, and i liked it (yeah i love repetitve gameplay! ) and want to know if the game worth it ? And if the play time is longer enough to spend 50 in it ? (i love tamagotchi universe but im not a day one fan) , i dont know if its the right place to ask, but i didnt want to spoil others people with your answers!

I’d say it’s worth it! It’s really charming. I felt like it seemed a little bit geared towards younger kids at first but the shops get harder the further you progress through the game.

I think there’s a lot more content than the games on the DS, too. All of the characters are also in 3D and there’s free roam where you can see Tamagotchi characters walking around and talk to them occasionally. I’ve been playing it for hours since I got it and I’m still not even halfway done I don’t think. It can get a little repetitive but I think all of the Tamagotchi Corner Shop games are like that.

Corner Shop is a game that’s very repetitive but like, when you get a hold of the controls you kinda zen out and you can do it for hours

You barely need to place anything and get 80/100/160 gp per customer. Just grinded out the 28,000gp I needed to fully upgrade the square

About 30 seconds per customer

🤷‍♂️ took me 15 hours to 100% it but I'm playing the Switch 1 ver.

Unless you consider quest part of 100% completion. Which I haven't finished. They aren't really quest tho you just speak to a character and a image gets added to their bio.

I wish they had notifications above them. Instead you have to check every single character in town. Only 1-2 will have a quest at a time. Then once its done the characters in the plaza will shuffle around and you have to check everyone to find the next quest

Nope. No punishment for going back to town. Good way to ditch some customers for easier ones but only useful in certain shops. I also did this in the pool whenever there was 5 customers at once. This method also helped me complete my customer list too

So there are actually FOUR “difficulty” levels per game, because you’re encouraged to keep playing even after Royal Status so you can get maximum evaluation points

We dont have info on the exact requirements so its all speculation. I would assume its based either on # of customers successfully served (2 or more 😀) or the total number of 😀 earned.

I was shocked at how fast the first 3 upgrades came but the upgrade to royal takes forever. Took me 10 hours to get every shop to royal then another 3-4 hours to earn enough money to buy all square upgrades and register every customer

the post-game story ||mainly follows prince tamahiko. the main six characters go on vacation disguised as “an emergency” (don’t remember why really, think it has something to do with tamahiko doing too many things), and tamahiko has to manage their shops (the other six shops are blocked off). each shop will get a single customer (himespetchi for the dentist, princess tamako for the galette shop, makiko for the eyewear shop, paintotchi for the manga shop, pariparitchi for the night pool, and kikitchi for the bicycle shop) with a relatively hard request (about equal to something in gotchi or royal status). they’ll all say they liked it better with the old manager, and prince tamahiko will say his work is done there, allowing you to manually leave the shop. after completing all six shops, a cutscene with pariparitchi plays, and going back to the house triggers another cutscene with the main six and princess tamako. after the cutscene, normal gameplay resumes||

The sushi shop is so confusing

I'll try to explain it briefly by memory, since I did it once and it took me a while to figure out:

The menu is shown on the upper right of the screen and goes from right to left, so you must make the right-most type of sushi for each customer, then the next one over to the left, etc etc.

First you grab rice and put it in your hand, then you must grind the wasabi and grab some to put on the rice, then pick the type of fish that's specified on the menu and place it on top.

When it's all together, you must roll and pack it tightly, but only 3 times so that it ends up looking like a perfect piece of nigiri. Then you can hand it to the customer, they will eat it and then wait for the next one until you've made your way through the menu with them. (Usually it's 2-3 in the beginning, I haven't progressed too far to see otherwise)

The longer it takes to make sushi, the more your customer will run out of tea or ginger, so you must refill them if you have the chance. Those are located over by Gozarutchi on the right. Customers will also sometimes have a sign in front of their plate that has a crossed-out picture of wasabi, indicating that you don't need to add wasabi to theirs.

Again, I haven't progressed super far to see if it changes too much over time, but I hope that helps as a general overview :)

Oh, and quick tip too: once you start making a piece of sushi, you cannot discard it whatsoever, so you essentially can't make mistakes with what you grab or how much you roll it up.

Omfg I was not expecting the Royal upgrades to cost that much lol I really regret upgrading the park area now which seemingly doesn’t do much (also they really need to update the game so doing the little quests/conversations with townspeople actually gets you prizes or Gotchi points…)

Sushi shop is fun as hell now that I get now the controls work, still can’t do the shuriken one though lol

I'm very confused. It's 2200g to update shops from 3 to 4 right? I triggered the final updates in multiple shops, but had to grind a bit for more money, and now when I return to the shops to upgrade them....it's not giving me the option even though I have the money.

Does anyone know how to unlock the last combo shop? I’m so bad at the shuriken game I get like one smiley score 80% of the time (I feel so bad they cry at the end ugh maybe my technique is wrong but it doesn’t throw the shuriken half the time I rub the damn controller!!) and then the rest of the time will get two or three smilies but if it’s tracking those to like a Royal store level number I have a wayyyyyyyys to go lol

For the shurikens, I had to feel it out a lot but the sensor is towards the top of the controller and it registers better if you slide across lightly

I love this game so far, but there's one thing I've been stuck on (just as a mental thing)... Does anyone know where the character voices come from? They sound incredibly familiar, like a VOCALOID or some sort of vsynth... I can't put my finger on exactly where I've heard the voice before either...

The credits also don't seem to mention any voices

My best friend is skilled with vocal synth and have mirai so they made the comparaison themselves while i was playing

Also Mirai is made by bandai so it would make a lot of sense for them to use her

I mean the popularity of a vocal synth is determined by how much it’s used :’D most album are posted by artist not by the company making the vocla synth! (I dont want to go too far of topic so im going to stop here but i encourage you to look it up :D)

Something I found out today: If you shake the joy-con while mixing ingredients in the galette game, it mixes it faster!!!

I discovered this entirely by accident

That was my only complaint about that game, the mixing felt way too slow

It’s a bit awkward though, you have to still be stirring it with your thumb while doing a gentle shaking gesture

It’s really hard to do it consistently but here’s proof

Actually, it seems like you can speed it up just by spinning the joystick in really fast tight circles!!

I guess I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time LMAO
