It won’t let me do an egg hunt today:/ has anyone else had this?

I set it up last night, it was 11 ish so I set the time as midday yesterday (17th) so I could play for a while, I did an egg hunt, then when I went to bed i set the time as the real time - 1am on the 18th. I’m wondering if ut has some kind of internal clock where I can’t do 2 in a real day, even if it’s different days on the tama

Just the one secret character you can get is locked to the shell, everything else you can find or unlock over time ^^

That's Chodracotchi for Pink Land, Yayacorntchi for Purple Sky and Mermarintchi for Blue Water. They also require connecting to 2 other devices

It is not just the pellets, also when you feed them food that is not from their 3 "main source". Like, I fed my Land kid : Shrimp. Instead of Meat, Careot or Worm

Yes and no, if you give the needed food like i.e Meat to the Land Kid for Roar Young but the hunger meter is just only greyed space, it will be neglected and converted into a rice ball in the cell, like if it was pellets, and count for undertermined diet, it was what happened to me in my first gen and got confirmed by another used here (i can't remember who, bad memory)

the gene mixing is very limited to just eyes and colour
I was expecting to be able to mix land and sea raising to get like the amphibians or something
I don't feel very attached to the tamas I've grown just yet

As a new tama player after the very first release in 97 I really like the paradise because it doesn't have a tons of thing to do lol

I feel it's really beginner/child friendly because of it. While I'm looking at other gens to get for myself I get a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you can do that influences your tama and it's not really user friendly to understand those mechanics, while Paradise I feel it is.

Ill be so fr Ill never really understand this perspective as much as I respect it. Especially nowadays, I feel like ultimately having a lot of different big and small features makes for a more enjoyable experience, and don't quite get when people say that less features = easier playability. Like I totally get it, as I'm running a +C for tge first time and am overwhelmed by the options myself, but I wouldn't want those options to go away in favor of making the gameplay "easier to pick up". I feel like instead it should be HOW those features and such are introduced to you step by step or in snall doses that helps instead of gutting a tama to make it easier to pick up.

Maybe what gets me from the other more "busy" tamas is that I don't see how you would be able to learn those mechanics without constantly going to the wiki/community to be fed that information, which is not a negative trait as I love the whole concept, but it can be a bit unintuitive for beginners and younguns. I agree there isnt too much either, but thats also because you and I have played with various tamas more than likely and kinda understand the flow. New players not so much, so taking a step by step approach makes sense so they can eaaily digest each feature.

Someone put it best ironically when talking about cake mania of all things and how you see the surface which is "play as woman bake cake and serve customer ungabunga" but then look at the end game levels where its at the apex of all the gameplay elements introduced throughout the game and wonder how tf theyre able to keep up with everything all at once. Honestly I'd wonder why/if that was really true. The US are heavily catered to compared to the rest of the world (except Japan ofc), online spaces are thought of as "international" if the main language is English, most people search for the English speaking community rather than other languages. There's almost an obligation to speak English to have some visibility and get interactions online—especially nowadays. Not disagreeing or being mean but Bandai isn't really trying to have an audience outside of English and Japanese speakers. Everything is geared towards them being the loudest/biggest audience.

Plus most people who got the device early or on the regular release date probably won't be sharing their experience here or will in their own community or personal accounts (→ with the early stuff probably not being shared in English). Furthermore, I think most will still be reserving their judgement for a little longer before sharing their thought-out opinions. For those who didn't get it early, the Paradise has only been out for a little over a week. That's too early to figure out what they don't like or major flaws. Granted, you finish it within two weeks so there may be more opinions soon

I’m really enjoying running my uni alongside the paradise so far. Whatever the paradise lacks imo, like being able to decorate your own room/dressing up your tama/online events, the uni delivers. It helps that they’re both relatively easy tamas to take care of, which suits my lifestyle

I think whether or not a device is a great one largely depends on what you’re looking for out of it. If you want something you can play with all day and not get bored of, tamas aren’t really the things you’re looking for; at the end of the day, they’re kids’ toys, meant for their relatively short attention spans.

As someone who has a toddler at home to take care of + am into video games, they are great companions. They’re nice to check in with during my short breaks, and doesn’t demand too much of my attention when I’m occupied with something else

I’m really enjoying the Paradise, I like that it’s quite a hands-off device that doesn’t require consistent attention. In the context of colour devices (or at least the few I’ve played with) it feels very unique and a lot more genuinely what feels like a Tamagotchi to me (having originally started in the early Connection era), but if you’re more interested in the gameplay style of something like the On or the Pix the difference in this one might be a bit jarring. Progression is quite slow early on and there’s features I’ve not been able to use yet at all after 3 days, though it’s giving me something to look forward to at every stage. The art and character design is lovely, the dial integrates really well into gameplay and menus, and I really enjoy how wide the array of games is - there’s everything from quick, low maintenance games, to longer and more focused ones, and I really like having the choice. I really appreciate the trophy system as a method of providing some longer-term goals.

I feel the same:)) I’m very chill with games I don’t like to speed run or stress myself out, I like how relaxed it is. I also like the unlocking things by level, it’s a little frustrating I couldn’t buy the food I wanted, but it’s helped me not get overwhelmed- as there weren’t really detailed instructions and guides are only just coming out, and also I’ve only ever played p1/2 and rv3 connection, this is my first colour. I love the art style, it’s all so cute:) I love all the games, and the variety in them too. It suits me very well as someone who is not a “gamer” I guess, I don’t really play games more complex than animal crossing/stardew valley/mario kart or something lmao

Also I think the levels helps with longevity, and keeping the excitement of new things happening going:)

yeah with the rerelease of the angel and the v3 I was expecting the next colour device to sort of follow that trend of old mechanics.

and it did, and I really like it. I love that we have the old connection style, random events similar to the umino + morino, dekas back, and a bunch of other small stuff like that.

I am loving the perspective of being a researcher, and being so "separate" from the planet. its been a lot of fun for me so far.

In the left is my first gene mixed tama, Irukatchi, born from Furawatchi and inherited their eyes and cheeks, and from Mametchi, their color, and the second is a Sky Kid, born from that first Irukatchi and Tachutchi, the purple sea horse, inherited all from it lol

It does offer the first, it has a compendium of random tamas to marry and breed with but it's locked to the biome that your adult tama did grow, so, if your tama is i.e Meowtchi (of Land), you'll only be able to marry and breed with tamas of Land biome

I don't know if connecting a second device would make possible to breed different biome tamas, like land with sky, because i have only one Tama Paradise

I think the woes I'm seeing from others of the Paradise I will enjoy. It's more like an "ecosystem or zoo sim" than a virtual pet and I love that type of stuff as well.

Just watching little guys do their own thing and you only intervene to just add stuff the the world or influence growth.

okay, as fun as the dial is (ive gotten used to it and i admit its p fun to use it, tho it can be a bit cumbersome), i constantly catch myself pressing C when im on the cell screen, wanting to "back" out. i wish there were like... alternate controls and you could zoom with buttons. and like use the paradise one handed. wouldve been a nice accessbility option imo.
cuz normally i pick up my tama w one hand and then check on it, feed it, etc., but thats not possible w the paradise. i guess i will get used to it, but its def smth that trips me up a bit currently

Once you have all 12 tamagotchi, what happens when you get a new one? Does it just ask which to remove?
