Light can be tricky. Some Tamas aren't obviously glossy.

I don't believe in the leak BUT I don't think it's as impossible as it seems

On the other hand, I'm sure that proper image AIs can generate something like that. Some are plenty capable of generating realistic images. (I don't think you needed to use something this harmful to prove it, especially when it's prob only like chatGPT and not a proper AI dedicated to this stuff. Obvs you won't get the same result. Not too sure why we're fucking up the planet for a Tamagotchi leak of all things. We all know it's a possibility and that it looks strange. Just because AI can generate a cat doesn't mean that the cat picture I saw is necessarily AI!)

Spock did have a good point that there's little point in faking Tamagotchi leaks but with how easy it is nowadays, someone might have just wanted the attention and reddit karma

Looking closer a second time, the shadow on the right is likely their phone, there's a shine on the Tama where the light generally is

The light seems further away with the way shadows are positioned. This makes it seem like the Tama is indeed glossy but the light is too weak to properly show it off. Makes sense, it seems to be artificial light.

Even if fake, that's pretty well-done.

My main hang-up is that the logo doesn't feel like it's on the Tamagotchi and the "creases" look too deep

I don't understand why there would be a green to pink fade on the faceplate either and that it's an exact match with the color of the shell.

Last thing, the comic designs shouldn't be taken as law. Stylization, earlier designs, lots of things could change between that and a final product. A prototype especially would not share the same design on all points! Let's keep an open mind for the next leaks.

(also this shade of pink isn't as ugly as I thought it would be. If we're still not getting soft pastels then this would be fine too I guess. What I'm scared of is that the blue shell will be bland or ugly/tacky again) (sorry, not a fan of the bubble RV3 or the blue pix)

Pretty is subjective. It could be that those designs weren't the ones kids liked the most! I do prefer the comic ones but the artist might have been a little too good lol. Jokes aside, they made sure the Tamas shown were accurate (to the point of a 3D model for the Uni which is hilarious) so I'd hope the same goes for the Paradise!

I've been thinking about what they'll reveal on the 16th and i can only imagine 3 possible outcomes..

1. The next 5 pages of the comic we already saw, which would be kinda boring tbh, because it's nothing new and if they keep going that way we'll probably be waiting months to see what we already know, but animated.
2. A second comic, not sure how they'll do this, since the first isn't fully uploaded on their site yet.
3. They'll finally reveal/announce the new device, because the next page (page 6) is the first ond we see the dial and device on, so it'd make sense to reveal those pages alongside an announcement.

i should mention that bandai's other product lines in retail have been on a massive downswing

a few years ago they basically killed off gundam's master grade line and almost replaced it with real grade which costs like half as much maybe two thirds

it would genuinely make sense for them to downscale the next tamagotchi unit into something more connection oriented for nostalgia cash while also selling it for cheaper

It was the same limitation as the Smart - the smacard/ticket is a package, individual items can't be kept separately, so when it's disconnected the entire thing has to be taken out of memory

Deco pierce let you keep items, but you couldn't change pierce if you currently had one of the deco pierce characters
