So cool to see you learning the hexagontchi! I picked up 2, one for me and one for my friend but the one had massive battery corrosion not disclosed and short, brittle wires that broke. That will be a future project to see if I can get it running again 😢

The other was better with clean contacts but super scratched screen and unresponsive buttons. Opened, cleaned, and polished but works beautifully now! I looked and the games and was like WHOA!

@craggy nebula I tried to take a couple of pictures with screens at max brightness. The black is most yellowed and I thought was dim compared to the others when I got it. I put fresh batteries in it and think it may be the yellowing that darkens it for me. The Hexagontchi is the whitest screen with the green not too far behind.

My magenta is stuck in FromJapan purgatory until shipping gets sorted 😅

Me too! I ordered color digimon as someone was selling 3 together but the li-ion batteries are causing a headache.

I did notice weirdness with the screen being darker with older batteries. I used rechargeable in my green and when the power got low, the screen slowly faded to black which freaked me out lol

I very lightly increased brightness/contrast on the whole image! But this should give a good idea of its brightness.

I bet that’s it 😊 The newer tama screens appear brighter overall to me but any warmth to a screen makes me feel like it appears darker or dimmer. That’s part of why I questioned the black one I had gotten. My first +c was the green and I want to say it felt dimmer at first by comparison because I was playing the Uni and Pix.

I agree! I work at a computer all day and have glasses just for that to provide some warmth because it will fatigue my eyes much quicker.

I really love the design of the +c and wish I could get them all. I bought the black and magenta for my sister and I have the green and hexa along with a broken hexa for fixing later (hopefully).

hows the gameplay been so far? im considering getting one 👀

Excellent so far! The biggest selling points to me are the pixel art, gardening, and a surprisingly good amount of areas to visit/unlock.

The roster is extremely small so I wouldn't get it if you want a larger set of charas to unlock. It is also the very first color model so there's some features that were added (then removed again ) that are not on the +C. Similarly you cannot download extra content onto it.

I'm really glad it could help! I also just think that the +C is really expensive, and there's much more complex/large-scale color-screen tamagotchis out there. So it might be a better investment to find a tamagotchi that allows for the player to download custom characters, on top of the base roster! (Whether with smacards, pierces, or iR/NFC downloads.)

I hope you can find a device that suits your preferences
