Hiii hey hello! Im Nox, both vpet and k9s enthusiast.
Im been holding back the idea of creating my own vpetapp for a long-long time by now, but suddenly i saw the whole puzzle frome above!

The game will be featuring a dhole (red wolf or a whistling wild dog), that will live straight up on your phone screen. You are chosing to take care of the little baby dog, rise it up and, eventually, create a strong bond between the two of you.
The more your dhole loves and trusts you, the more feaatures are getting allowed - you can't pet your tiny buddy from the first place - but as you earn its trust by taking care of them PROPERLY, the dhole will allow you to touch 'em!
It is still in a pretty much early stages of developing - but I just want to share my ideas and process of creating the thing with the community of people with interest so alike with mine.
This is my first game I actually do myself, but I've participated in a couple of online-game projects before (as an illustrator). It also won't be taking all of my time to dev - i have an actual work, university and responsibilities. I will, however, give the project as much attention as i can. This thing is just so important to me!

Also! The app itself will be 100%-free, without any kind of microtranzees or something. I'm also not asking for any sponsorship - the project is a total deal of my own interest.

So! That's pretty much it for now. I will update the thread soon with my art concepts and, hopefully, the demo show-off soon!

AH I forgot! I choose the dhole among all other species bc these babies need more attention! barely a few people out thre even heard of them, but they are one f those who was harmed by people the MOST!
so im kinda trying to rise the awareness of the problem of endangered spesies. who knows, maybe i could even help some people to find their way on sponsoring local zoos or stuff?

im still working on sprites (its planned to be A LOT of them) but i discovered it is a bit too hard to keep track of them.
ill try to post something from actual game on this weekend, but for now

ALSO! should the male and female character sprites have any differences? waddya thin? wont it be sexist to add some eyelashes for female? i won't do it myself as it will probably look even more goofy on an actual ANIMAL, but it is a common trick to make it easier for the players to understand which sex is their vpet? perhaps?
anyway, i also plan on making different color scemes of the pets (not related to their sexes obv), but mostly those gotta be the variations of red/orange and darker/lighter colors. or should i add some fantascit colors, too?
i first planned the game to bee as simple as its possible, but the more i do, the more i want of it.

I'm 100% happy with no sexual dimorphism, especially if you're going to have non-sex-linked variations, and not going to have breeding or any other mechanics tied to sex.
