The screen, buttons, and backplate aren’t original, but with the buttons I found such a good colour match that you’d never be able to tell (thank you, frill Uratama)

I was just looking through my tama logs and was reminded that thanks to a glitched connection the tama I've got on my v2 right now has both a brother and a half-sister.

#

What happened is the connection failed on the male tama during the marriage so the female device proceeded to have a baby while the male did not so I then married the male tama to another one of my connections and that is how one of my tamas fathered three children (plus the fourth one that just got shot into the void never to be seen again)

My V2 is on its ninth generation so it has most of the items, this is Kaerutchi on the throne

#

Fun fact: I actually got up to the 19th generation before, but it died and I had to rebuild my item inventory

#

I've been trying to get back up to the gen count I was at before, but I run this specific V2 very on and off because it was broken for a while and I only just recently permanently repaired it (I think. Only time will tell on that but it seems to be working fine)

The V1 doesn't have a shop or any gotchi points. The English and Japanese versions are identical other than language
The V2 introduced the shop, and is the easiest connection to earn money on since you unlock the slot game in the adult. It also has a few character who were only available on the V2, and that's pretty cool. There's also no Japanese equivalent to it.
The V3 is quite similar to the V2! The games are a bit different, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. But its still basic connection gameplay with no gimmicks.
I can't remember if V3 characters are locked to a gender, but in the V1 and V2, the gender of your tama doesn't affect what character they can evolve into. So even though theres odd/even generations, you can get any of the characters in that gen, regardless of the gender your tama is
And the rosters are different between V1,2,3 ofc!
