I have a Motorola moto g pure, a good budget phone that can run games like Minecraft and Stardew Valley, even GTA Vice city without issue, but this game just crashes on launch half the time, and the other half, I open a menu and the game crashes. It's a relatively recent issue, as I remember the game running fine on my phone a year ago.

i just looked your phone up, the CPU may age bad over the years due to overheating and heat management for it. also 2GB of ram is barely enough to run the game indeed, a thing that could be requested is a lightweight version of pss so it can use less ram, no idea how this could be done
but for now just stick to no load a lot of stuff on your phone and try to play in places that are cooler in temperature
