I've lost the ability to fire crew. Dragging them into space places them in the nearest room to that space (if the bedroom has room, otherwise it says not enough living space).
Not sure if it matters, but it started right after I fired a crew that got a star from being a duplicate.

You need to drag them into space, but close near your ship

You can fire crew but it seems to be inconsistent and random. I've been successful mostly by dragging them to the hull. It could just be random tho

It’s not minor when colleagues who are able to fire at a better pace/consistent pace can get more chances at better crew than you. And cheaper too while yours stack along with crew price increasing without firing previous drawn crew.

To fire crew I found out after many try’s, if you remove the AI room from the ship, you can them send them into space. If AI room is on you ship, it always try to put the crew in the room.

I have similar issue - happens from time to time, usually I can fire crew more or less consistently while dragging them on external part of the hull. Sometimes nothing happens, and sometimes games says that I have enough crew instead lf firing

oki found i can fire crew ..on steam i had to long press the char for 20 secs then flick up to put them in space not tried android yet

Removing borrowed crew is also impossible, have to wait for the timer to expire
And they seem to count towards my crew count so if I removed 2 of my crew then borrow 2 crew. Visually I have 8/10 crew on ship, but when I place back the crew won't let me just displays the error I have no bed slots for them
