Both gives a 40% buff. For all other directed pieces they give a larger buff than the undirected ones since they have a more limited use. But not for this types of pieces. At the moment they are a waste of a epic drop chance. I (personally) would remove them and replace them with the undirected ones, and use the epic slots for new types of pieces (the crossing ones we've been asking for a while).
#Remove or buff directed cross component (3 out) [modron pieces]

Forcing you to upgrade pieces to get an epic 3-out might not be the best idea either. I'm sure there's a more eloquent solution.
Its better to upgrade, IMO, than having to rely on luck from the epic drop. And if you get the wrong direction you have to wait a week or two until you reach the next guaranteed epic. The epic 3-way directed doesnt add anything to the game as it is today. Directed should be more powerful than undirected.
I assume its an error that they give the same buff. And it has just been overlooked later on.
But if there's better solutions to this issue Im open for it.
Or add the bonus to each output instead of to the input.
Choosing the exact direction prevents overflow in some designs
I thought the overflow was fixed?
Though keeping the directed cross component just to manage overflow seems to be the wrong argument to keep them. Its still strange that they are the only directed pieces that arent stronger than the undirected.
