Some Questions From Returning Player

Haven't played since around the middle of Beyond Light or maybe beginning of Witch Queen and had a few questions that seem difficult to find the answer to.

Will any of my armor and weapons be usable/upgradable and good? Or should I just shard most of it that doesn't have some sentimental value?

How much story content will be actually playable and viewable in the game from expansions I haven't played through (Witch Queen and on) vs how much will I need to find videos for online as I play through content?

If I need to watch, will there be an easy way of navigating, "play this, then watch this, then play this" kind of thing?

Is there still a friendly enough player base that would be willing to help me see and play older raids for the first time?

Especially if I'm super rusty and not very good at the game anymore haha

All in all just hoping to support the game a bit here with everything going on, joining in the hope to spur a D3, and see all the content I can while it's still available with players still around.

Heyo! So if were being realistic ikora usually gives the 300 set from the new light stuff so starting out wont be the issue infusion wise however

Realistically armor from teh far past and weapons as well

Until june 9th at least are just not as good as tiered items anymore

I guess my question on that end is more my confusion about the new weapon and armor systems. I'm assuming nothing I have will convert to new leveling system thing?

Yeah nothing converts power level wise

Tier wise any exotics you get rn till june 9th instantly become tier 5

So you will get a good start with that

Right now metas mainly the super stat so if you have decent armor with super stat i would keep them because you can do tier ups if youre really picky

Ifnyou dont mind farming then you can just get new stuff

The only annoying part of anything starting out rn is hands down edge of fates campaign

The videos I watched to try and get a feel for where things were on that seemed confusing. So armor I have with stats can still be relevant even though it's not using the current armor system?

And thats because its very tedious it gives stuff you csn use but its just very confusing and tedious

The tier system ARMOR wise implemented extra stats thats all it did

Yes, some stat combinations aren't possible with the new system, like max weapon+super stat for example

Old weapons I'm guessing are worse off than old armor?

There is a great player base build up rn everyones in their feels and they want the game to pop off so right now its not as crazy but june 9th everyone will be doing everything

No not really, raid crafted are being brought to the tier system with the june update so those are still valuable, we still don't know if that system will also apply to all crafteds

I left before the crafting system was implemented entirely

Also just because a weapon isn't tiered it doesn't mean it's automatically worse than a tiered, some weapons don't even have a tiered equivalent, like multimach

Yeah banshee now gives god rolls of weapons when you beat certain dungeons now i would keep those even though those arent craftable

Those were only because of a problem regarding how the rolls on weapons were dropping, it's not something he does for all dungeons or has ever done since

Not saying its for all dungeons but it is still there just to claim and i believe he gives like chill inhibitor and multimach in there

So its just some nice stuff

Raid crafteds will convert, maybe all crafteds will, old armor will stay in the old system

I get that special raid weapons and such could still be relevant, but could favored primaries like the old version of Hung Jury still be relevant if light leveled up? That's more along the question I'm asking

And by favored I mean guns I liked to use

I mean theyre still usable theres a lot of crazy weapons and builds these days realistically aside from rockets pulses and stuff most builds ARE ability based rn so realistically speaking they are still usable

Almost every gun archetype is getting a buff with the update
