I ended up trying to solo the phalanx echo from the prophecy dungeon for one of the seasonal side quests but dear god he's such a massive pain in the rear end to kill than before, did they expand his shield?

just drop Well at his feet during dps with Lament or a godroll PvE dps-based sword and go ham - it’s a one phase and the Well makes you ignore shield

Something's are coded as shields not barriers. Well buff goes though shields and barriers, radiant only barriers.

yeah just dump well on the floor and shield becomes irrelevant you can hit the shield as much as u want with Lament or some other DPS-perks Legendary sword and it will shred if it’s a good roll (like a masterworked Jagged Edge, Swordmaster’s Guard, Relentless Strikes, Whirlwind Blade roll)
