I just got the collection and don't know where to start, what to do. I did a few tutorial missions. Now I'm at the tower and have 0 clue where to go, which mission to do.

Some of it is, but D2 also has class abilities and aspects/fragments etc, which are a very different system than Destiny 1

I understand, I'm mostly confused at which mission to do now. The tutorial quest now is "Gazing into the abyss" and asks me to collect 3 orbs of power but I have no clue how to do this

Never paid much attention to Destiny's story. I just want to get to where most players are now in terms of gear and raids

Oh orbs of power aren’t like an object you need to get, they’re a thing you create with armor mods and stuff. I forget if the game gives you access to mods yet.

Easiest way to generate them is to go to your head armor and equip a siphon mod that matches your weapon type (or one of your weapon types)

In that case, I’d reccomend playing through The Final Shape.

Coming from Destiny 1 all the way here will be a bit confusing, but it’s the easiest way to get up to speed. And campaign missions give a lot of glimmer, which you’ll need to buy more aspects and fragments.

Go to your armor page, and scroll over to “guardian ranks”

Follow those objectives until you gain access to armor mods, not much point doing other content without them lol

Sort of, it was an attempt made by Bungie to create objectives for new and returning players to do to get up to speed on game systems, but it’s not very good tbh

When you get to level 5 you should have access to all the mods

And that won’t take very long

Timeline reflections are a good idea, especially since I believe Ikora has a quest that goes with them that gives you a starter pack at the end with curated exotics, aspects, and fragments etc

Make sure to go to Ikora and see, the starter pack should be very useful to you.

Also, go to Banshee and check and see if he still has a place with a bunch of free weapons. Specifically, one that’s name starts with “VS” and then some name that’s a Heavy GL.

That is a very good damage weapon which you’ll need for raids

Banshee is in the Tower, you can hover over icons in the director, and one of them should say “The Gunsmith”

What I was going to say is that Vault of Glass just got refreshed with new loot tables and stuff, so lots of people are playing it

And since you come from D1, that’s probably be a good way to get back into raiding

Hey, thanks for your help! I actually played a lot yesterday. I'm almost getting to guardian lv 6 now. I want to increase my power lv quickly to get to to do raids which is what I'm excited for. I fondly remember the raids in destiny 1

I'm guessing the other raids can be chosen by going into the planet they take place in and manually selecting them. Is that right @forest atlas ?
