Farm exotic engrams with Expert LS then focus at Rahool
Or just open the engrams if you don't have golf balls

This information isn't really accurate anymore, you don't get exotic items that you haven't unlocked in collections from Lost Sectors anymore, they simply drop engrams which are just used at Rahool for focusing.
When you reset Rahools reputation track you get access to a third page in the focusing options called "Novel decryptions" which is where you can unlock new exotic armors with an exotic engram and an exotic cypher.
This was just incase you hadn't unlocked it in your collections to focus yet, if you have, then yeah, running lost sectors for the engrams to focus with shards and engrams is the easiest.
