I've played 20 games of iron banner and I haven't had a weapon drop am I doing something wrong?

I am trying to get the new gl and smg and they haven't dropped. does it need to first drop from playing the game or is it possible to get it randomly from engrams being spent if I don't have it unlocked in collections.
