how do I get High Stat Armor

How can i unlock the armor focusing at the war table, it asks for something called favors?

And whats others way to farm high stat armor, preferably the easiest/effective way.

each seasonal vendor has the option to open engrams for gear

you have to obtain each gear piece once to unlock it for riven for example

Favors are active in Defiant Battlegrounds Playlist and you have a chance to spawn them when you use a heavy weapon to get a kill or get a Melee or grenade kill.
