I'm not really sure what i need to be doing. I logged in, was met with much different UI, loads of quests, and I don't see anywhere to pick up powerful gear. A hand would be great!

do beyond light and lightfall's campaigns if you have those expacs and have not completed their respective campaigns to unlock stasis and strand

lightfall gives gear catch up to 1750

I had stasis years ago, but now its not there anymore. I found my way to the fast explanations of the campaigns and did all that

I don't have anything past beyond light sadly, so I'm not too sure what that cuts me out of

ie you got beyond light on steam and are playing on steam

if you got beyond light on say, epic, but are playing on steam

you won't have access to your stasis stuff on steam

you get access to vanguard stuff, crucible and gambit

europa stuff and presage in the exotic rotator if you have beyond light

also reprised raids

#

caveat for nightfalls though, if the weekly nightfall is from witch queen or lightfall, you won't be able to queue for it
