I've read somewhere that since the exotic you choose from the campaign has bad stats, you should choose the one you don't want and try to get the other in a lost sector

Yes I know, but for example if I choose osmiomancy gloves after I finish the campaign, my next drop in a lost sector will have to be the other or will I still be able to get osmiomancy even if I don't have the other

So rewards from Legendary Campaigns aren't tied to the Campaign itself as Hyena said

So if you choose one exotic over the other, you'll still be able to get the other through Legend Lost Sectors

It just depends what it's giving out that day (Arms, Legs, Helmets, etc)

Lost Sector Exotics prioritize giving you what you don't own from any given category (Again Helms, Arms, Legs, etc)

So for example if you choose another exotic and Osmiomany is the only gloves you haven't attained...

Then when the lost sector is giving out arms, your next exotic from Legend LS will 100% be osmiomacy as its the only one you don't own in collections
