Just found out how bad my dps has been after checking my damage in a raid. Any weapon and build suggestions?

magic dagger
#

What class you on?

#

@leaden inlet

leaden inlet
#

titan and warlock

magic dagger
#

For warlock, using Starfire Protocol with witherhoard and a demo rocket is great if someone else is using gally

#

you could use a demo chill clip rocket in solo play for bosses with small crit spots, leviathans breath is a really good option with the catalyst

#

You're gonna want to craft a Taipan with triple tap and firing line, that one is always good

#

And i've heard that thunderlord with the catalyst is doing some really good DPS as well

#

There's a good amount of options so it comes to preference (unles someone is using gally, then use a legendary rocket STARE )

#

honestly just doing fusion nade spam on warlock with Starfire Protocol will do a good chunk of damage

#

you could try to run surge mods as well, 1 mod does 10%, 2 does 17% and 3 does 22%, so you'd be fine running 2 of them

#

any tips for titan?

magic dagger
#

for titan, other than the weapons, not much really

#

you'd just run thundercrash ig

#

in most cases i default to using a bubble

leaden inlet
#

so for warlock I’d use rockets mostly, any main weapons for titan?

magic dagger
#

Depends on the boss really

#

if they have a big crit spot you cant go wrong with using thunderlord and actium war rig

leaden inlet
#

say, a raid boss with damage phases

magic dagger
#

If a teamate is using gally, id use a rocket 10 out of 10 times, if not, id use a linear if it has a good crit spot, and if its a spungy boss, id use linears still but have someone use divinity

#

Basically Gally rockets are king, otherwise keep a linear on the backhand

#

If you're looking for specifically good linears, Cataclysmic and Taipan are very good

leaden inlet
#

But ghorn itself isn’t really good for damage right

magic dagger
#

yeah

leaden inlet
#

I was doing kings fall earlier and I had terrible damage

magic dagger
#

what were you using?

leaden inlet
#

well first I used ghorn but switched because everyone stopped using rockets

magic dagger
#

what'd you use after, and on what boss

leaden inlet
#

I used retrofit escapade for a bit, then used arbalest + terrible roll taipan for oryx

magic dagger
#

Retrofit isnt great dps, if you had a good taipan for oryx you'd have done fine for dmg tbh

leaden inlet
#

I thought that retrofit had good damage because of target lock

magic dagger
#

It brings the damage up, but it doesn't compete with the top DPS options

leaden inlet
#

ah

#

and linears are still meta after the nerf right

magic dagger
#

For longer damage phases, they do very well with ammo economy

leaden inlet
#

how about burst damage phases, like warpriest

magic dagger
#

gally rockets would probably still be best

#

i just use a red herring with field prep and lasting impressions, does good damage

leaden inlet
#

would xenophage or any other heavy machine gun be good?

magic dagger
#

Thunderlord with the catalyst is really good

leaden inlet
#

so I would use either thunderlord or a lfr for damage unless someone uses ghorn, where I’d use a rocket

magic dagger
#

Basically yeah

#

Leviathans breath is really good as well

leaden inlet
#

on rockets, which perks are the best for damage?

magic dagger
#

For warlocks with starfire, youd want Demolitionist, then a dmg perk like lasting impressions, vorpal or explosive light

leaden inlet
#

and for any other build?

magic dagger
#

for other characters or for other builds, you might want to run auto loading hoster so you can do special weapon dmg whiile its loading, you could run field prep for more total ammo and faster reload while crouched

#

or impulse amplifier

leaden inlet
#

are auto loading and field prep in the same column?

magic dagger
#

usually yeah

leaden inlet
#

rip

#

so either auto loading and field prep for one, what for the other column?

magic dagger
#

Lasting impressions, vorpal weapon, frenzy (in some cases, this one is preference), explosive light

#

If you can craft a Red Herring, that should be able to serve you fairly well

#

Most people default towards using Hothead, tho that needs more farming

leaden inlet
#

can palmyra b achieve similar results?

#

it’s the one rocket I’m sure I have the pattern for

magic dagger
#

hmm

#

Well it might be fine, but it's a hakke frame rocket, so it has built in tracking at the cost of damage

leaden inlet
#

ahhh

magic dagger
#

in think that frame of rocket does 10% less damage by default

leaden inlet
#

damn

magic dagger
#

might be wrong on the numbers

#

I mean my palmyra is lvl 120 so its not like i dont use it, lol

leaden inlet
#

any exotic power weapons where I don’t have to worry about rolls?

magic dagger
#

Levaithan's Breath, Thunderlord, Two-Tailed Fox, Sleeper Simulant, Xenophage

#

You know, I haven't tried it myself, but Whisper of the Worm might be really good for Oryx, since it has a ton of ammo

leaden inlet
#

hmm

#

which one is the most versatile here

magic dagger
#

Probably Xenophage, it doesn't need crits, can be used for orange bar enemies very well, and still does decent damage to bosses

#

Although I'd still take Levi or thunderlord over it any day

leaden inlet
#

yeah I think I’ll just use thunderlord because I actually have the catalyst

magic dagger
leaden inlet
#

in damage phases I wouldn’t be switching weapons if I use thunderlord right

magic dagger
#

yeah

#

You just hold down the trigger

leaden inlet
#

I was confused because it just felt like any other lmg

magic dagger
#

oop

leaden inlet
#

ooh

magic dagger
#

I'm gonna DM you a vid link, you can see how good Thunderlord does in it

leaden inlet
#

tysm

#

I tried going online and searching up dps options, and it just gave me charts

#

I saw that deathbringer was on the top , and yet I see no one using it

magic dagger
#

Deathbringer is technically top, but its such a pain to use and so annoying to do that no one does it

leaden inlet
#

what makes it annoying to use?

magic dagger
#

You have to shoot the rocket above the boss and detonate it to make slow moving tracking projectiles come down

leaden inlet
#

ok yeah not for me

magic dagger
#

The rocket only does good damage when you detonate the rocket high enough in the air, since the projectiles do more damage the longer they travel

#

If its too high, the projectiles will just not hit the boss, too low and they wont do good damage

leaden inlet
#

so it takes actual skill

#

time to forget about it

magic dagger
#

Even if you detonate it at the perfect height, the projectiles tracks to normal enemies as well so if that happens you lose a lot of damage

#

It's just too much of a pain

#

I used to use it, but there's so many other easier options that dont even lose in DPS by that much so there's no point

leaden inlet
#

hmm

magic dagger
#

If you ever want to play im always willing to help with anything as well, dungeons or anything else FishKissButBetter

leaden inlet
#

for sure, hardly any of my friends are on because of timezones

#

idk why most of my friends that play this game are in europe

#

also I just realized your pfp is the biggest dub ever

magic dagger
marsh bloom
#

rn leviathans breath is doing really good dmg in lightfall, no build required just shoot arrows at weakpoint on boss

#

its not as great as say witherhoard cata + rocket w/gala teammate, but its decent solo

ornate bay
#

thunderlord

#

man is just lying to this guy

opaque oyster
#

Depends on the weapons you have, warlocks can pull high dps with fusion nades

magic dagger
#

they're on par with bait and switch cataclysmic
