Last night I was harshly critized for freezing Champs cause it "took too long". Never had a prob before and following gms other groups had no probs with it and said it helped. What's the general consensus?

#

To freeze, or not to freeze? That is the question.

You have to freeze at the right time. Freezing a champion unstuns it, but also resets the Cooldown allowing you to stun it again.

#

So freezing an unstoppable right after you stunned it is bad because it instantly gets it damage resist back and you have to stun it again

#

But freezing it after it's stunned but still on Cooldown is good, because you can stun it again right away

Well, I'm on hunter so the grenade bubbles are always on, always freezing.

Well yeah just spamming duskfields/bleak watchers everywhere with an uncoordinated group can make it more annoying dealing with unstoppables/overloads

I see. So they always coming in and out of stun? Also, I haven't noticed any difference in how long it takes.

#

They melt really quick if everyone focuses on it and stun or unstun the champ can't attack cause it's constantly frozen in the bubble

#

I run a lot of gm and it just seems to make things easier when they're frozen.

#

First time I got complaints

swift dawn
#

Yeah if you can melt it it's whatever, but if you can't it's annoying because an overload for example needs constant overloads while it's getting frozen or it regens

But they were so harsh it made me second guess myself

#

Ah, got it.

It's all getting changed with lightfall anyway so wouldn't worry too much about it rn

The method to stun is changing. You think the freezing mechanism will too?

swift dawn
#

Well I hope so or stasis will be pretty bad for stunning

#

Stun overload with slow, then you freeze it and it gets unstunned lol

So then I'm play it by ear. If initial Champs are taking too long due to freezing, then I'll lay off the ice.

#

Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense why they complained, although they were a common denominator as to why they took too long to kill.

#

They usually die pretty quick regardless.

There's also a pretty good video on YT covering all this in detail called "How to annihilate Champions with Stasis"

Personally I hate it if an unstoppable gets frozen before I can shot my heavy, for overloads it doesnt matter too much though as they dont recover while frozen

#

More of a stasis flaw though that hopefully gets adjusted with the changes coming in lightfall

they do heal, just at half the speed
