#Best Linear for Solo DPS

Cataclysmic with bait and switch. 35% damage buff that doesnt rely on other people
Yeah Cataclysmic for sure, if you dont wanna farm Vow for red borders, you can craft a Taipan with Focused Fury (20% buff like Firing Line), Triple Tap as a non grindy alternative
I'd really make my decision based on subclass. Sailspy Pitchglass from last season can take voltshot, which would be awesome solo for clearing adds while you DPS the boss, etc.
Honestly, the linears are all pretty close together in terms of raw DPS.
why are you addclearing with a linear??
As like a secondary effect
but u have two other guns
Some encounters in like dungeons and the like have a boatload of ads that spawn during dps
So being able to kill those sort of passively while maintaining dps, instead of interrupting it to shoot some random hive thrall attacking your side, is a good trait to have
team it up with witherhoard + weaken clear mod that is another 15% i think added to it
it would take longer to activate voltshot and clear the room than it would be to just swap to a primary and kill them with that
or you can just throw a nade, same effect
If you're using a different gun to add clear, then you're not damaging the boss with your linear. Having guns do double duty when solo is huge.
You also may be using your heavy to bring down majors during encounters, and it's not a bad single target damage perk.
Lastly, it synergizes with arc 3.0, which was my whole point. I don't think this is a really controversial recommendation.
It's also much easier to get a good roll on Pitchglass than Stormchaser.
Good lord the post limit in this discord is oppressive.
i wouldn't shy away from saying it's up to preference a lot of the time
but i do think it's by far better for GMs compared to stormchaser
remember 5 ticks of voltshot from pitchglass = 1 shot from pitchglass
stick a boss with voltshot + witherhoard ticks and it'll do a fine job at lazy clearing a room
I've also read jolt debuffs enemies vs. arc supers, but I've never actually used it that way, so it might be an urban myth.
