Hi everyone! I just started playing recently and up until now I've only rly done story missions and other PVE stuff. I usually avoid PVP games since I always die right at the beginning and get trash talked,, but I've been thinking about giving the D2 PVP a shot. Any tips on gear, weapons, abilities, strats, etc. that I should know before getting started?? my main is an arc hunter
#I'm a new player looking to try PVP. Any tips?

first of all: play for your life. See two opponents looking in your direction and you are alone? run. Someone is hitting you and you cannot see it where it is from? run. they cannot score if they cannot kill you.
So play mostly in defensive mode?? I assume it’s probably a bit easier in this game than some other pvp games bcs we have the dodge ability,,, thx fam 👌
definatly not easy as games like call of duty etc but its alright. just take your time and dont rush
use whats best, youll not get far when you try and force a tactic thats just not working
Not worth playing pvp. It's in a very bad state right now
Bungie has dropped the ball on pvp a lot this year
Oh lol can't post a link here to the useful video material from aztecross
But yeah look if you plan on treating pvp in destiny more than a side arcade mode where dying isn't your fault, play something else
The amount of cheese, lack of balance and stupid nerfs really kills pvp this year
Nah i wasn’t planning on getting too invested in it,,
was just wondering if there was anything in specific I could do that would help me not die within the first minute of the game 😅🤣
That happens to me a lot in other pvp games like valorant 😭
Well what can I say
Destiny pvp is destiny pvp, if you jump you die, sliding is bad, invis reigns pvp, ability spam is crazy
well that helps 😅 I probably would’ve been jumping all over the place as a hunter lmaooo
Thx fam 👌
I have ace of spades too i heard thats a good one for pvp
Gotchu,, are there any pulses in specific which r rly good?
at the moment, 390 RPM pulses such as yesteryear, syncopation, the kingsfall one, among others are great
aggressive frame 4 burst pulses are always reliable, you can get sacred provenance from gos and insidious from votd
450 RPM pulses are the least favourable atm
the easiest pulse to attain for performance is syncopation
next after that would probably be piece of mind
if you raid, look out for rapid hit + kill clip sacred provenance, the kingsfall pulse, and insidious
from gambit, watch for yesteryear, and from dares look for last perdition
personally on pulses I look for stability perks and damage perks to make bursts much more forgiving
nice thx sm 👌
I'd recommend looking for a certain play style that really fits how you play and just stick with that, once you understand when and when not to engage/fight you can move over to other weapons and try things out
I personally use a bow (le monarque) with a smg, covers both long and short range
However I think pulses and hand cannons are the most friendly primary
It's recommended to run a secondary special weapon but if it's not your style don't worry about it, plenty of people run double primary in pvp
As for dying in the first minute, if it's 6v6 it happens to everyone because of how hectic it is. In 3v3 though you 100% play defensive for your life
Last tip I can recommend is pretty basic but make sure you use your radar, notifies you of where enemies will be coming from. If you ADS it disappears but if you use ace of spades it stays
You have already died, you will die hundreds more times. Have no fear or anger, because it already happened. no different from breathing or yawning, just run forward and pull the trigger.
the radar is the minimap at the top right?
Yes, look for the red spots as it's located based and not sound based
Crouching also hides your character from pinging but it pings for like 0.5 seconds every 2 seconds? Good for playing some games
Invis hunters are the only weird gang, they ping for 0.3 seconds every 2.1 seconds and Bungie is looking into a way to nerf them but
how does a hunter get invisibility? is that a subclass ability?
void hunters have smoke bomb and an aspect that gives their dodge invis
there's a fragment that also extends their duration so they become annoying to deal with if you find a good player
your map pings very briefly and makes u rely on sight but they're also invis
ohhh okay,, so I wouldn't have that as an arc hunter,, but ig there's probably different strategies for arc
Aim good, don't die. Ez pz.
Arc hunter kinda meh in pvp imo
yeah tbh when i first unlocked it i mainly picked it bcs i liked the light blue 🤣
👍
uninstall game pls
i have become bald after playing this game's pvp
next is my hair on ma balls but i wont survive that
It's okay
Arc staff reflect can do a bunch of funny things
Hunter melee is also pretty reasonable
As someone who sucks at pvp, I can say that things have become more pleasant since SBMM (skill based match making) arrived in Control. I'm up against other folks who also suck 😉
Until you start doing good and you get slammed into top 500 ELO control
In general: try to keep near others on your team. There's safety in numbers.
Yeah use cover, run as a pack.
You get more wins with defeats than trades
Eh, unless you're playing as a flanker role
oh they have skill based match making?? that's good I won't get thrown in with tryhards on my first game lmaoooo
im pretty decent, so ill try to help, id definitely stick to whatever you feel comfortable playing with. if you enjoy the feel of an omolon auto rifle rather than the most meta handcannon, use the auto rifle
also, dont be afraid to fight gunfights, meaning dont get stuck thinking whether you should take a fight. as a new player, your game knowledge is not gonna be as good as someone whos been playing for years.
