Stormchaser does higher damage per shot, but takes longer to shot all three rounds (even though charge time is the same), so DPS is similar
Usually I just use the LFR that matches my subclass and go with font of might, cataclysmic, taipan, reeds and stormchaser are all great

stormchaser has low total damage which is the whole reason why linears are relevant so it's nkt great
cata is the best due to having the best ammo economy perk (fttc) and highest weapon buff (35%)

That conflicts with what @near pine just said. Better total damage but lower dps. So better damage per bullet but less shots per second so it evens out.
I have never seen Cata get close to 150k with the 35% buff.

yes really like the taipan for it, its possible to shot like 20 rounds if triple tap and veist stinger activate constantly

cataclysmic and taipan have more total damage cause they have more rounds to shot, stormchaser hits harder per shot, but it also takes longer to shot those three rounds
