TBF, D2 has around 200k players daily, and Marathon probably has a bit less if the Steam/Xbox/PS player base breakdown has held up. its not insignificant, but its definitely not enough to maintain a AAA studio with 800+ people working at it

Especially since I can not fathom the MTX on Marathon are nearly enough to keep things going.

$100 is actually a bargain for the earlier model - 1 major DLC with its own subclass, etc. and then 3 seasons/episodes with their own activities, vendors, exotic missions, etc. even if the expansion wasn't great. For the current model of 2 DLC campaigns and random events, it's a sham
