vanguard alerts are the equivalent of old GMs and are at -50 power at the easiest, conquests are set difficulty harder versions of normal portal activities, in both of these you can't change the modifiers

look in literally any portal tab that isn't the seasonal hub and you'll find activities where you can modify the modifiers

The key there is for there to constantly be something fun to do, then people don't worry so much about leveling up

But there's also no concept of gear infusion in a game like the Elder Scrolls Online; if they changed the gear cap you'd have to refarm all your sets for bonuses and that would stink

And if you remove power you absolutely have to build the loot system so harder=stronger drops. Destiny is not that hardcore of a game tbh

Tbh, not much of the internet is really talking about marathon, good or bad. It is really only the Bungie/extraction shooter adjacent spaces. The game is super niche it seems, so I was surprised to hear them say they will keep rockin with Marathon for a bit.

I hope the next D2 expac puts Bungie back on the map though, or at least pushes it in the right direction. I think they still can pull it off... but the problem from what I am hearing about D2 is a lack of content, and a shift towards instanced gaming vs having planets to go to.
