For PvE there are multiple builds where using guns is optional. Void/Buddy builds do a ton of damage, Bonk/Stronghold titans don't need to fire as well. Doubt it'll work in crucible with reduced recharge rates. Most people would actually complain about hunters and their bag of tricks

Portal can get you to max power level and is better if not as good as current DLC activities. Look for activities with multiple bonus engrams (shown by green shapes), each of those is an additional power reward and it adds up quickly if you do a ton of those

Most of portal, except maybe trials, is free
