they are renaming/reworking it and pulling in features that were supposed to be in the next expansion, which I thought was going to be June anyway.... As someone that works in dev, that's not pulling in features, thats delaying existing functionality to align with the next release

I feel like there is a good chance this update is going to be like an AOT from a few months after D1 Rise of Iron. They are updating all the existing raids/dungeons, giving T5 loot to them along with all the dungeons. Buckle up, we might not be getting another expansion until D3 🙂

From my perspective, D2 looks like it is doing fine. There are enthusiasts that are still playing daily/weekly. D2 just isn't the big new awesome thing it once was. I think most live service games go through this. The ones that maintain popularity are the e-sports that really take off like CS or LoL.

All armor and most weapons won’t be very useful now as they’re not tiered. Bungie has announced they’ll bring tiered gear to all dungeons/raid in June so that’ll be the right time to grind
