Strand isn't actually very useful for Calus as it's not optimized, except for quick traversal. There is a rythm to this fight, can get very difficult if you don't follow it. Once tormentor appears, only focus on it. Pop the crit spots and dispatch it while keeping distance on the platforms

Same process for 2nd tormentor. Just avoid Calus until tormentors are dead so in 2nd phase when you're up close and personal there are no tormentors with you in the boxing ring

Actually that's not right, unless something's changed in last few months. Calus spawns 1st tormentor when he's at 2/3 health and another when at 1/3. If you super him down you'll get 2 at the same time. I recall taking down tormentors one by one

Yeah, it was a massive pain without it. Though, a Hunter with the one exotic that makes you go invis on melee hits worked really well for a friend that was doing it.

There were a few cheese methods for this fight as well where you could stay in a safe spot and snipe everything in phase 1 and then land on top of the dome in phase 2, thereby taking no damage at all, not sure if they're still working

Usually the game puts you at the right difficulty by default. If it's matchmade you're all set. If it's not, hover over the grade (page with customize/launch buttons) and it'll show you LL and tier of drops with current settings. You can change it if it's not what you want

If you can farm most bonus engrams on solo/fireteam activities, there's no faster way to level up. However, only 3 fireteam activities are matchmade per day so check out in-game lfg. Once these are exhausted, I've usually found caldera to be the fastest solo farm

Insight terminus or reclaim are faster on paper but if they're not matchmade that day, it takes more time to get a group going

QUESTION: i want to purchase year of the prophecy ultimate edition because Ive been off the game for those two expansions. Im more pvp while playing pve to get the right weapons for trials. is it worth spending that money on the ultimate edition because of the state of the game right now.

and basically any other weapon has to fight incredibly hard to justify using them in that slot

Seeing the "quest" for stuff always makes me hesitate cause I wouldn't say something like Presage or Star-Crossed is a quest
