Portal activities with 2-3 bonus engrams is the fastest source by a huge margin. Renegades legendary campaign also levels up quite fast. Then solo ops rinse and repeat, ideally caldera or K1

There is this thing called portal (director replacement) which has activities. Doing those gives power gear. Solo ops usually give 1 and are quick.

Then there are fireteam ops (3 people) and arena ops (6) giving you 2 power gear usually, pinnacle ops (think exotic quests from past) and crucible (PvP)

Each week you have bonus engrams for some activities and you gain more as you play more. Think of each of them as additional power gear. So if you do a ton of activities with more bonus engrams that gets you max power gear in a short time period, fastest way to level up

Honestly, it depends on what you have already done. I returned to the game after years of a break just a few months ago, not having Vex mythoclast, not having touch of malice or either of the ship for the master completion for KF or VOG. So i did all that, then got Vex Myth caty.

I did the title and triumps for Renegades, invasions and EOF. Im just a few triumphs away from the title for the new dungeon.

I stilll have many titles, triumphs, weapons and gear to get yet so plenty to chase for, the one thing i want currently is the KF raid sparrow, i just dont think the in game LFG is capable of finding players to do KF challenges on master lol

I also still need 11 more oversoul essence from Crota to get the exotic for that.

I collected all the crystals for the saber, the exotic from the dungeon. There is plenty to do it you want to put in the effort
