Get praxic blades and upgrades. Blade will you will get from an exotic quest which is part of renegades campaign. Most upgrades are either in the same exotic quest or equilibrium dungeon

If you've just come in, don't bother farming till you're 470 power level. Weapons and armor has 5 tiers now, T5 starts dropping consistently at 470 in PvE and 450 in PvP, you'll likely dismantle everything else so just level up as quickly as you can

Some portal activities will have bonus drops (indicated by green icons), consider those as bonus and do those first if possible. Also, Zavala will give you 2 armor pieces and 1 weapon per week at higher power. It shouldn't take long to go from 300 to 470

Excellent, keep them. Stats now go up to 200 instead of 100. Till 100, it's recharge rate, 100-200 is damage or some other effect, e.g. 200 grenade stat translates to 60% more grenade damage, you can hover over stats to learn

You select armor archetypes to complement your builds, e.g. grenadier will be suited for grenade heavy builds, paragon for melee builds, etc. And armor has 2 piece or 4 piece bonuses
