Barriers can be finicky the way they're implemented. Unstops or overloads get stunned with 1 bullet or ability. For barriers you need to grind down the barrier (which has hp of its own) and unless your burst dps is high enough barrier champ will just summon barrier again

Heirloom is very niche. Exotics should be different from regular weapons to make them exciting. Consider finality auger, navigator and of course the lightsaber etc. They bring to the table something unattainable otherwise
