Found the issue, entering matterspark while holding a lightsaber disables the ability to manually leave(?)

Holding a lightsaber also prevents titans from using thruster too, lot of weird things with it I guess

so theres a few things you can do

stasis warlock with rime coat raiment is fun becuase you can get class ability energy from frozen enemies, and the fancy bleak watcher will give you even more slow for more shatters which blows up more crystals, which you can use to get your grenade energy back from shattering them

and with all the class ability regen you will always have a healing rift handy to pop down when you want to go melee a big guy

you'll want the barrel perk that improves the stability it has a bit of a kick for a sidearm but its solid, you may want a role with last two perks but a more stability in the magazine perk if you catch my drift

though its a learning curve i didn't expect

basically use praxic blade to apply weaken pop off mag grenade at full charge then watch you basically destroy a yellowbar's health

then switch to energy weapon then use melee then repeat and make sure you have devour on

i died a bunch using it because i got too aggressive
