Stasis you can literally brute force, it's whole deal is control. But Strand you need to let go, and if you can't, you get unraveled like we see in the training montage cutscene.

Orisis, Ikora, and the Young Wolf are the only ones who can use Strand to my knowledge. But there's probably more

Which is why I feel signs point more towards Nightmare as the red subclass than Eclipse.

Nightmare might be about letting go of the past too.

I think Resonance is the Witness trying to discover Strand. And after we properly discovered it, it used the limited knowledge it had to copy what we can do with it.

The Weavers are using a modified grapple to pull us in, Subjugators are using the Titan super's suspending slashes.

None of what the Witness did with Strand was original, just copies from our own methods.

Meanwhile with Stasis it did do original stuff, because the Witness gave us Stasis to try and tempt us, but that failed.

If you ever want to make them change, find a spot the mech can't get to, and just stay there, even the Stasis one can't get you, you take 0 damage from Freeze if you don't break out of it.
