Overloads are generally the champions that will cause the most problems unless you can instakill them. While Slow is accessible, with Mint being best in slot you aren't as likely to have it. Jolt is an alternative as well, and Suppression is just right out because there's very few sources of it.

Meanwhile, I can stun an Unstoppable on accident, or Suspend a Barrier champ to stop it from using its ability before I can burst it down.

Not to mention when not stunned, Overloads teleport around like crazy.

Going to be running with this until I get more weapons in legend Renegades. (I have a backup blue energy secondary and blue kinetic primary and secondary just in case I need to swap around.)

I remember doing the same thing in Witch Queen, but I ended up stuck with a blue energy hand cannon for like half of the missions because an energy weapon wouldn't drop. I learned that day to never use blue hand cannons.

If that giga Hatchling MG is the season pass exotic I'll probably immediately swap to using it instead of NLB, that way I can use the gun you get at the very start of the campaign.

looks like you do have to complete the BL campaign and unlock the weekly empire hunt access from the world map

do that by Completing the Beyond Light main campaign and Variks' post-campaign quests.
then complete the "Europan Explorer I" and "Europan Explorer II" sabotage quests from Variks. These may require Herealways Pieces to launch and specific challenges to complete

you can also get it by running the mission with someone who has already done the above
