Where there's those two turrets before a drop, you can actually go up and there's a shortcut that leaves you way above the room where the ogre spawns, just use some kind of dive to get down or time your jump right.

Solo ops aren't like fireteam ops so the only thing that matters is going through it as fast as possible.

(That and the bonus objectives.)

Yes you can, there's a secret passage at the top that overlooks the ogre room.

You can then dive down to the bottom. I always do it when running salt mines normally.

recoil makes them near impossible to actually aim so most effective use for 'em is hip-firing

autos and SMG's have pretty similar ttk's just one is way better at mid-range oppression and the other's more for short-range ambushing

with the former being able to extend to long ranges while the latter can still be somewhat effective at mid range too with the right guns

but Bungie MASSIVELY nerfed SMG's in Beyond Light because they were just better than Auto's in every possible way in PVE and PvP both

the nerf in particular was caused by The Immortal being so disgustingly oppressive to fight back against in PvP so they nerfed SMG's by making their recoil be really high

that, combined with Flinching, makes them extremely hard to aim, so it became a meme that most players still using SMG's are either aimbotting or they're just disgustingly yoted

unless it's a Precision frame, those don't recoil or flinch for anything but they have the slowest ttk on paper due to having the lowest fire rate
