One big thing crossbows have in the slot is versatility. (Granted gear isn't locked.) They do strong damage to minibosses, as well as having a ton of different bolt modifications. Where they're really fun, however, is in PVP.

If you get a cluster + bipod, that's sick, you can fire 2 shots back to back before needing to reload. Put 2 strand autoloaders on boots and use mint for a while, rinse and repeat
