There are other buffs that do the heal on kill effect. If he was only using OEM it only gives an overshield. The closest thing for hunters is the dodge heal and invis gives void weapons volatile which you can keep going forever invis/volatil kill gives invis.
Wormhusk Crown and Gyrfalcons Hauberk which can be combined on the class item.

Very similar but different perks. The new one can drop with all perks on tier 5 or nearly all so you can swap how you play. It has the new create scorch on hit instead of scorch on kill as well.
