the raids (and presumably dungeons too) that will come out from now on will have a base light level (raid is currently 100 light, epic raid is 200) with feats adding to the combatant power without changing what the forced power delta (aka the difference in light level between you and the enemies) is

except for the "cutthroat" feat, which changes the power delta from -10 to -30

saddest part is that the content itself is still awesome it's just wrapped in a weird mess of leveling, gear, etc

So basically you should get to 200 light then just get the best weapons and you can do any of the end game stuff

Also are the encounters like attached to each individuals light like if I’m 200 and my buddy is 350 is the encounter dragged up to his light or are we both at the -20 or 0

loot now has tiers which scale with your light level (with the exception of the raid and probably next dungeon) so if you want the best loot possible you'd have to get to 470 light to guarantee tier 5 loot

once you reach the power cap of the activity any higher light will not make a difference, you will be force to be at that light level if you're above it

You get raised relatively close to their power. If your friend is 350 then you’ll get raised to somewhere around 325-340. My numbers might be off.

also fireteam power now exists, which raises everyone's light level to be at least-5 compared to the highest light level in the fireteam

so in your case your 350 friend would raise you to 345 light (loot is not affected by fireteam power)
