You can also drop counterfeits. They actually count as weapon damage too, so they can make orbs. Also if you disintigrate an enemy with a Stasis crystal it makes, they'll have the weapons elemental effect instead, so you can burn an enemy to dust with Stasis damage.

yep. you see in the config menu the powerlevel gear will drop at. just play the easiest difficulty that still increases pl, since you dont gain anything of doing anything harder. advanced till 200, expert (i assume) to 300 and so on.

Look for the grey text under the name of the negative mod, you want the one that says faction unit mod or faction drop mod (whichever you need)
As examples: Hot knife is a faction unit mod, Fire pit is a faction drop mod
