For what it is worth, both methods eventually get you the god roll in theory. The crafting way is guaranteed to be finite, and you WILL get the god roll eventually.

Praying for RNG to drop a god roll tends to be about ~1% chance of success, and there is a chance you never get it.

My beef is I don't like doing a pve activity 100x times and still not having the god roll personally.

The activity loses its flavor at some point for people, though it varies.

This all boils down to personal preference, but typically:
-Endless grinds eventually burn me out. I don't like them.
-Getting BiS gear guaranteed after X amount of finite time encourages me to grind out that gear, and it encourages me to play with that gear since I feel powerful in the game now and it feels like my time spent has paid off.
