Neither afaik. People like to use specific locations (some lost sectors) to properly test damage to avoid any possible interference on the damage calculation. They tend to record it and count the numbers manually as well last I checked.

almost have a better chance of finding vex in gambit, but you get penalized for leaving gambit iirc
