and the end result of applying cross validation is we have the best two points to find the midpoint of

and split the data on

so in this case, the yellow cirlce is inside of the green square, so it is considered obese

even though there is a red circle on its right which is considered not obese

(the red circle on its right is an outlier)

ok so this approach will work when the data is spread in a way so that a lot of the stuff on the left is different from the stuff on the right

but what if we are given a data set where too little is bad and too much is bad?

suppose we are given this dataset

using the two approaches we learned above, there is no way to effectively select a midpoint so that the data is split into two groups

ok so lets come back to this example after diving deeper on support vector classifiers (choosing a midpoint excluding outliers)

this concept does not have to be in 1 dimension,
