you could look into some of the "knock offs" though I've had some pretty good luck with them just check reviews first. If you want a mic that is NOT attached to the headset then look into a Blue Yeti or Yeti Nano ($99 - 150)

I was just basing it off of following the above advice of GOOD headphone with a separate mic. You can get an all in one usb headset for like $35 from Amazon that will work just fine.

I've used the $27 SADES Newest SA902 and it's decent enough, you may have to replace the cheaper stuff every year or two though. But it could last many. I have a pair of Sony MD-7506 that I've had for 20 years and I've only had to replace the ear pads on them. they work and look brand new otherwise. Worth the $100 they cost
