I can tell you one thing for sure about m.2 you will get either perfectly similar or usually better performance than a sata ssd, and youre read/write speeds will be off the charts. If you just want fast load times in games and fast common operation alone, an SSD would do fine

This is just my opinion, but I would just use Defender, and nothing else. Using a first party program gives you features like first party core isolation and sandboxing which only Defender can do because it's so ingrained into the OS, and you simply do not need anything else. It is pointless and unnecessary to go overkill with an av. Get uBlock Origin, turn on a few filter lists, don't be an idiot when browsing, and use a reputable browser and keep it up-to-date.
