ah. i heard someone talking about how it's comic book trope to always have parents dead, or some reason for not being around, cause when parents are around, you can't develop characters freely, parents become extremely limiting in character writing, and that was very interesting to me

never thought about that, but it's true. parents being in the characters life, become the way the cahracter is formed, parents instill values in their children, etc. without parents you are free to develop the character around external factors of your choice

not really comic book exclusive at all, but it's most noticeable in superhero stories

last time I played northstar it had some really annoying respawn location issues

also I'm really not a fan of the higher player count servers northstar often has, eg 7v7 or higher as opposed to the normal 5v5

I feel it makes the games frustrating, especially with the respawn issues, though that's just personal preference
