also have around 7 surface shrines left
probably in caves
i set sensor+ to either blupee or bubbulfrog and it really helps
how do you get that
the armor? they're mostly located in hard to reach places in the sky islands
Zonaite Legs Piece: ||Akkala Sky Mine, 4514, 2116, 1159||
Zonaite Chest Piece: ||Zonaite Forge Island, 2375, 1775, 1475||
Zonaite Head Piece: ||Lightcast Island, -3647, 1040, 1752|| this one is the hardest to get as it's really high up in the low grav zone
if your battery sucks these would be hard to get
but it's doable if you spam zonai charges and large zonai charges if you just use the hoverbike
i had full battery so i didnt need to do that
if by how do you get that you mean the parts for upgrades i wrote a separate guide for that entirely
if you mean sensor+, you need to get Robbie to come back to hateno ancient tech lab
Those sound so annouing to get to esp w the lack of shrines in the sky
oh yeah it is
but you know what, for me it was worth it
i make lots of crazy power hungry contraptions
this armor is made for me
I MADE A COOL CAR
I dont have footage will a crappy phone photo do
Yeah
That looks like a really sweet ride
And has some turrets in case some pesky enemies get near you
Yeah! It's great for bumpy roads
Can't go up steep though. Tried to go up a slope in death mountain and got stuck
The turrets are why it needs doors.... but on the plus side you dont need to attach koroks they just sit in the cab
Ah yeah it does need work in the all terrain department
Not sure how to give it more pull
The front thingy helps w small hills
Also cant figure out turning
The tricky thing about building all terrain is making a suspension system
You can either make those with springs or portable cooking pots
But it's kinda hard to get right
I found a tutorial
But basically a suspension system is what makes cars able to like land on the ground and absorb the shock from doing so
This tutorial uses springs
The great thing about this is that you can toggle the suspension system
If you just want a smooth ride like a normal car on flat ground, then turn the springs off
If you're climbing steep hills, turn them on
are there any koroks in the depths?
Short answer: no
Long answer: ||There are some koroks in the great deku tree chasm but they are npcs that dont do anything||
||There are some outside the chasm but they also don’t do much but give lore||
Finally got all the surface shrines
one of my last ones was the ||yiga clan exam||
thought that was neat
also got the lightning helm
as of now i got 20 sky shrines
so that leaves 12 shrines to go
Learned about this in a vid. Yunobo shooter scooter #TearsOfTheKingdom #Zelda #NintendoSwitch
Went shrine hunting and was derailed by, this
This is so fun to do
Do need to find a way to reverse this thing
Also delivered a korok like this https://fxtwitter.com/lonewolf45gamin/status/1672157896057176065?t=6Ie-hKj1aA1MTeZNRYZgHA&s=19

Griller from Splatoon v2! #TearsOfTheKingdom #Zelda #NintendoSwitch
made the griller from splatoon
it's tall enough to take on moblins
on boss bokoblins the propeller wacks them
two questions: how many shrines and korok seeds are in TOTK? i can't just guess how far i've been progressing
Spoilered for other people: ||152|| shrines
I don't know about korok seeds but iirc there's more than in botw
||its only 100|| more
||"only"||
Finally advanced the story
Post regional phenomena spoiler ||finally got the 5th sage||
||Seized construct is a cool boss||
||Mineru is useful for everything else but fighting||
||like collecting apples from trees or breaking ore||
was supposed to build something crazy today but got sidetracked by the main story
Yesterday I beat Majora’s Mask
Great game
Now I gotta try Ocarina of Time
And I still have to get through BOTW
Raise your hand if you did not name Zelda’s golden horse “Goldie” or something similar
I named it Midas
Does uh. That count?
Also raise your hand if you didnt name it something related to pee
u are crazy
Final boss sequence was just wow
Can confidently say that they didnt mess up the end
Had a brain fart moment earlier
So i had one shrine left
I counted 32 and i thought i got all on the surface
I activated all on the surface but for some reason one of them i just didnt go in
the shrine reward is kinda weird
kinda?
yeah i think its a big deal
that's how it feels haha

I was about to say what does this have to do with Zelda
Artist creates mini Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 'hoverbike' build via 3D printing https://t.co/RZ2GtNFe0K https://t.co/QQhgnqWrGU
This is peak Zelda lore
I'm at the last dungeon of totk (I mean the last one in the regional phenomenon)
And I can say that the goron one feels a bit too large lol
Am I allowed to talk spoilers here?
And idk if there is a dungeon before the final boss
Yes you can talk spoilers here
Lol i just cheesed that with the hoverbike
The fire temple became very easy
I did the exact same thing lol
And you probably know by now there is a 5th temple and a 5th sage
I saw Link's rings
I guess yeah there is one more
I did
Oh did you not go back to purah after that
The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom OST - Demon Dragon (Final Boss Battle)
I do not own the Zelda franchise or any of the soundtrack. All copyright goes to Nintendo
This is the best final boss theme in the entire series
And no I still didnt finish the game but I checked the final boss before because of morbid curiosity
Its the most relaxing final boss theme ever
so... i have some news regarding zelda TOTK; i'm considering to cancel this game's playthrough
with the main reason being that, the game is simply astronomical in length if you want to get through as much content as possible, it would take 2-4 months if i were to play for 6 hours non-stop, however especially in the present day it's not easy to maintain a consistent play schedule...
at the same time i feel TOTK is becoming a worthless game to me, partly as a result of being large for the sake of being large
compared to xenoblade 3 which had better gameplay flow to an extent
I just went for all shrines and all lightroots and some location discoveries and that was only 59.95% according to the game
TOTK would be a fucking 700-hour game if one were to 100% it, it would be an intense slog too
after i stopped playing TOTK on june 25th i've only played the game 2 to 3 times mainly due to lack of time from my pressing needs either on real life or internet
despite this i had the time to go over the DLC for xenoblade 3 and finished everything in mid-july
it's hard to explain why i just don't like TOTK as much anymore, but what i can say is that the game is soulless and astronomically large compared to xenoblade 3
now i want the next mainline zelda to return to the pre-BOTW style of gameplay
TOTK learned me that i don't want a game that is gigantic just to be a gigantic game and nothing else
just by learning that a game would take too many hundreds of hours to do everything in it already leaves a sour taste, and taints your playthrough of a game
TOTK is the intrinsic motivation game. If that's not how you play then it's not for you
i wonder if nintendo intended TOTK to be like this
they did
a lot of what you do in this game is a lot better when someone is intrinsically motivated
because rewards the game gives are actually ass
and also there's no reward for building anything so it really is the game for people like us (engineers)
xenoblade 3 despite taking a couple hundreds of hours to do everything it has soul and has better gameplay flow
xenoblade 3 definitely is more focused and has direction
it's also sort of a sandbox game but has better balance of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation
i can say the same about how i played ACNH back in 2020
so that means... a game with at minimum partial or significant extrinsic motivation depending on the game would be a more motivating and enjoyable one for me
yeah
I noticed that the ones who didnt like TOTK are mostly extrinsically motivated
so here's how my strain of interest for TOTK went:
i temporarily stopped playing TOTK after june 25th over some meaningless meme on the internet that badly impacted my mental health, and i intended to return once i felt better
then a week later on july 1 or 2 i returned to playing TOTK, though i didn't have much time to play
starting on july 4 i started to do the paid DLC content for xenoblade 3, finishing on july 17 or 16
after XC3's DLC, i had a sole TOTK session as of this message, and again didn't have much time to play
i intended to play TOTK again following that session... but never did due to being very busy and a lack of time
i didn't have any sage at all over the course of my TOTK playthrough, and being focused on searching every nook and cranny throughout hyrule was how i played TOTK
over 70 dollars well spent. 💸 /s
"side content first, then main content after finishing the available side content for now" is how i go in any game
@thorn tartan
yeah thats actually the worst approach for TOTK
true
because there is too much
i'm not fit for ACNH, and i'm not fit either for BOTW and TOTK
honestly the first litmus test for TOTK was "did you enjoy BOTW"
if the answer is no then more often than not you wont like TOTK either
i've had more fun playing games like celeste, hollow knight and pizza tower, especially for going for highest percentage completion or all achievements than i have for something similar to games like TOTK
are those games mostly relying on intrinsic motivation too?
hard linear platformers and metroidvanias don't
now that i think about it, every game i played where i was more motivated and enjoyed more on, and even replayed occasionally since the late 2000s, be it flash, smartphone, fangame or commercial game, were all extrinsic motivation types
yeah i guess thats just being incompatible with the TOTK gameplay loop
makes a lot more sense now actually
plus i would never, ever want to play a GaaS game
shoutouts to dragon quest 9 btw
iirc this game has like, a googol amount of postgame quests
Like my old friend said XC and FE games are pretty off brand for Nintendo that I'd like to see more Mother, Mario RPG like IPs instead of those
And they just dont look appealing to me
I said that cuz XC was mentioned
I feel like familiar Zelda races feels better than the weirdos of XC lol
to me, xenoblade 3 and future redeemed had essence that TOTK lacked
I'm never experienced with its combat but it looks sluggish
TOTK has a pretty snappy combat
Tho I must admit
I hated the first hours of totk
Due to how everything was killing me in one hit
But the stronger I got, the more I started to enjoy it
And this time I really like the story
You have to do a tedious quest to get the full picture but its fefinetly worth it
Plus you get master sword by doing that
i'll probably continue the topic in #gaming-general bcs it has gone increasingly off-topic
XC is made by monolithsoft, a subsidiary of nintendo. Those guys have been around since their days in square enix (xenogears) and namco (xenosaga) so it makes sense to be "off brand". FE is intelligent systems, they also make paper mario games but lol
also you cant get more Mother games because that series is already over in terms of story
it ended, it's not dead
the combat is only slow when you kill enemies only by auto attacking. Gotta use arts to be more efficient
and ofc the ouroboros forms and chain attacks help speed things up too
the combat in xenoblade is more like an MMO
my love for RPGs originated from flash RPG games and building the player character and getting stronger gear or crafting materials for new gear was jaw-dropping
for me it just started when i played chrono trigger and then i just ended up picking up a lot of jrpgs along the way
well, in conclusion now i personally accept that TOTK should belong in the same boat as ACNH (i know these two games are different but these games have The One Thing™️ in common)
oh that reminds me, during my animal crossing phase back in early-to-mid 2020, after i took a little break from it and before i returned in early april i started to gradually lose interest in this game, and then in early june i got xenoblade 1 DE, which truly marked the death knell for ACNH
yeah there's no going back to ACNH after that
i was only playing ACNH mostly just for the wedding event photos for june
and then in july 2020 after meeting with tasha on a random island tour, i abruptly ended ACNH for good
the playthrough of an intrinsic motivation game to me is only strong in its 40-80 hours
and what i wanted to bring up as well, masochistic gaming challenges, especially in 2D platformers are more worthwhile personally than spending 600 hours in TOTK just to see everything it has to offer
heck, i can just show this! (not to brag of course)
https://youtu.be/VIFCZZOlS1M
(no music bcs I've grown to hate the singular-power source theme. not saying it's bad but i feel it has become the representation of sorrow after a dead run to me)
"Let's do this, for Granny."
Got back to doing this golden after kinda leaving it on hiatus since late 2021 - ultimately, across eight days of attempts over 40 hours was spent in tr...
@thorn tartan oh i forgot to bring up xenoblade 2, its grind-heavy "100%" led me to a complete lack of motivation after playing with DLC in march last year
oh god
what do you mean, xenoblade 2 "100%" completion or celeste farewell golden?
both
honestly though, farewell golden took me 40 hours to grind
verily, most masochistic gaming challenges are often shorter than how TOTK or dragon quest 9's 100% would go
however these challenges stand out as more of a prestigious achievement for taking dozens or even hundreds of hours
God fucking damnit
I was liking the game so much
Like it was genuinely good for the 4 sage locations
But they HAD to put a quest to make us find the 5th one
And its both tedious and cryptic
And when.you get to the floating.islands section, you'll have to deal with lightnings
Idk, this really makes me wanna stop playing
i did that all by myself so it was funny when i got the quest for it
I rage quitted at the sky islands. I need some time away from this game
It really cpuld have ended after the 4th sage and it could have been a great game
But I now honestly feel like if I wanna finish it now or not
This game just never ends
the game ends whenever you want it to end
Isnt the 5th sage impostant for the game?
i guess
it honestly felt like a secret
i didnt really like the story so nothing really felt all that important
which is ironic because i was only able to get through the lightning by following the one plot thread that i didnt like at all
Thats so easy to deal with, I just had the lightning helm from the yiga hideout
The lightning didnt do any damage to me but it still powers down my hoverbike lol
Ok I went to the depths
Got the robot built
And now I have to go all over to the other side
THIS FUCKING QUEST JUST DOESNT END
It sucked up my all night
And I'm not even done with it
On top of all of that
THE ROBOT FUCKING SUCKS ITS SO SLOW

Yeah even other people's zonai mechs are better lol
Should I just give up on the quest?
Because I'm really exhausted from that
I feel like I'm wasting my entire time
You know you can just save and quit then come back next time
Yeah sure but I want to be done with this game already
Like doing Dragon Tears quest and the 4 main quests were pretty good
Well after finishing the 5th sage the final boss sequence takes a while to finish too
So it's best done in chunks
Then there is the 5th sage
Wtf happened here
If the final sequence is as tedious as this then I might give this game a very low score for the ending alone
Like I was saying its my 2nd fav up until this quest
Then just go to the final boss straight
You can do it without the 5th sage
Just head to the hyrule castle chasm
Seriously, fuck you Mineru

I spent lots of time getting there so might as well trying to finish it but if it gets too much on my nerves then I'll just go to Ganondorf
I just wish I never even attempted to that but I wanted to do it cuz it felt like a main quest
Idk how people even figured out this much without someone guiding them
Well there are people who accidentally stumbled upon it
Some even got it as the first sage
I really wish Zelda games in general were more clear for what you need to do next instead of forcing you to look up a guide at any moment
Honestly the only cryptic part of the quest was the part where you had to go to the ring ruins to clear the fog in the sky
Rest was pretty straightforward enough
See, I dont like spending too much time figuring what to do in games nor do I want to spend 50 hours on a single time when I could just get into something else at the meantime
So you don’t like puzzle games
Its not like I dislike them, its just that TOTK is WAY TOO BIG that I dont want to waste time looking around huge empty spaces
Well you also gotta like think about the hints and where it could possibly apply
Probably this quest is what made me hate the game all of a sudden because up to that point I was liking it
i did it without clearing the fog
Yeah if done out of order people did that with the fog
i did it after doing the first four sages but only because i thought it was the last thing to do before fighting ganondorf and i wanted to get all the shrines beforehand
I beat the game without Sidon because I'm awesome
Queen gibdo and phantom ganon took some time to adapt too
The bosses are annoying at most but they're not dark souls
I had more trouble with silver lynels
I wonder if 2nd phase of ganomdorf is hard or not
I havent upgraded my outfits yet because couldnt find a single great fairy
So it all comes to how much the dorf gonna damage me
well even if you found them, it's gonna be worthless unless you get them to come out. It's a chain of quests that begins in waking up the woodland stable fairy (prerequisites: being a member of the Lucky Clover Gazette)
also I got fully upgraded zonaite armor set. Energy efficiency for my builds + 84 armor https://fxtwitter.com/lonewolf45gamin/status/1670729336239067137
finally upgraded to the max! #TearsOfTheKingdom #Zelda #NintendoSwitch https://t.co/95ebYIUsjq
Of course its unlocked by a fucking fetch quest lol
Lol
This is one of the most boring credits I've ever seen
But at least better than frontiers
i just skipped it
So about the game
Honestly dunno what to feel about it
It was a rollercoaster for me
Like compared to botw
Highs are higher
But lows are lower
Which one I like more? Probably TOTK because it had better gameplay and story
Especially the story
So I guess the game deserves a...
8/10
Thats kind of a generous since there were moments that I straight up wanted to stop playing
But it was an overall good experience
That said
I'M FINALLY FREE
This is the best (and only good) Ganondorf battle
I actually had to try to win with this lol
It wasnt that hard but I actually had to put some effort into it
Plus his design is amazing in this game
This is THE Ganondorf
This is a graph of how my enjoyment went with my TOTK playthrough
I really wish that the game was more consistent with its quests
Like compared to botw, the highs are higher, but the lows are also lower
@hollow ivy
Seeds Collected:
2,075/2,075
Botw: 900
AOC: 175
Totk: 1000
Heres proof
I love the little guys
Especially hestu
for me koroks have always been kind of just there
My zelda collection
thats a nice collection
Thank you!!
The master sword one i definitely want thay
Thank you! It came with the Botw Limited Edition
Majora's Mask is the shit
That too

Ever wanted Korok pan fry
ultrahand is dead
The gravity gun
no this is the opposite of the gravity gun
the gravity gun has completely permeated the half life franchise
even the vr game has it
Yeah
one of the most interesting things about the zelda series is the mario crossover enemies (like when lakitu was in the minish cap)
i just think it’s funny that all the crossover enemies were in link’s awakening dx except for lakitu XD
i just started playing totk again for the first time since september and now imma try to 100% it before i leave for italy in two weeks :)
Sand Seal Plushie
I like platformer games and rpg’s and I am thinking about getting into Zelda(never played a Zelda game before) does anyone have any recommendations?
link to the past (NSO) , ocarina of time (NSO+), skyward sword, breath of the wild
first 3 are more traditional zelda games so to say
they are linear, have dungeons, and you get a sword and other items to help you solve dungeons
Thx
botw is a different formula in that it's open world and you get to basically go anywhere you want and do whatever you want
it also doesnt have proper dungeons like those other 3
I’ve been recently playing Ocarina of Time since I have played it before, but never bothered to finish it and now I’m finally getting around to actually beating this game
This is such a lame reward after spending so much time getting all 100 Gold Skulltulas
Thats zelda game rewards for you
Yea thats just zelda rewards when you get all of a collectible
This hasnt changed all the way to totk
Or eow even
That sucks
It be better if you basically have no expectations of a good reward when you do it
Yeah, I just feel like after all that hard work, I should be getting something that’s actually worth it
Also, since I’m in the Zelda mood right now, probably after I finish OOT, I’ll probably 100% Majora’s Mask
Yeah but that again doesnt change until the present day
That’s unfortunate
redeads
Got my last Heart Piece and the Fierce Deity Mask
Man, I forgot how emotional and dark Majora Mask’s story is
I’m replaying Ocarina of Time on the 3DS and man, the Heart Piece in the Graveyard is so annoying because the spots are random every time
I finished Ocarina of Time 3D and it feels so good to finish beat this version in its entirety
Because I had this version of the game for a few years, but never bothered to finish it up until I beat the N64 version of the game
That’s when I decided to finally beat the whole thing and actually 100% it as well and it’s still an amazing game and there’s definitely improvements with it
The graphics look way nicer and the aiming with gyro controls is so much better
What do you guys think the empty center triangle in the Triforce means? I think it could represent us, the players!
I learned how to no-damage Ganondorf in TOTK a few weeks ago
He is not hard
The only way you'd get hit at any point is if he blindsides you, or if you don't know how to deal with his homing Gloom Orb attack
Strafing towards where the Gloom Orbs come from is helpful, but you can also time a spin attack with the Master Sword to reflect all of them in one swing
If you don't have the Master Sword, you have to strafe towards the direction the Homing Gloom Orbs came from, and you must strafe towards gaps in his Gloom Orb Wave or Gloom Orb Ring if he does those instead
Demon Dragon deals contact damage while its actively moving, the Gloom Fireballs aren't hitting you unless you're sleeping
I beat Thunderblight Ganon and it was the second Divine Beast I did
So now, I don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the game
I get more stressed about sneaking around the Yiga Clan Hideout than fighting Thunderblight Ganon
same
i tried fighting all the blademasters at once for funsies
went as well as you imagined
it was funny tho
Whenever I got caught, I just reloaded my save file that I put before the hideout
Also, I recently just got the Master Sword in BOTW
I am actually quite good at activating the flurry rush all because of ||that one boss in Tears of the Kingdom||
Forgot to post this, but I beat Wind Waker HD yesterday
So glad I finally went through this whole game because it’s amazing
Hey, has anyone wondered where the Yiga Clan got their name from? Like, what meaning do you think “Yiga” has?
I think Yiga comes from Iga, which is a well known ninja school in Japan
That would make sense, given their stealth-related tactics!
And the winner for the weirdest looking edible stew goes to…
that just looks like someone put detergent in a bowl and passed it off as stew
Base Recipe:
||Dark Clump, any meat, any fish||
you dont really need to spoiler that
Is it just me or does Mineru seem kinda left out in TOTK?
I finally finished Tears of the Kingdom and man, what an amazing game and an improvement over BOTW imo
Okay, Idk about that
im an engineer at heart, just terrible at it which is why im a mathematician
and TOTK is very much an engineer's game
Because of being able to build things in the game?
yeah i used to spend hundreds of hours on just engineering things
I honestly love the build mechanic especially in the Depths since I built a flying machine that just let me fly to the lightroots
Plus, it’s also nice for the water too since I felt like in BOTW, you pretty much just had to find a way to avoid it
Yes
it's a canon event
Anyway, can we agree that the Ganondorf fight is way better than Calamity Ganon?
What they did drop the ball on was the Master Sword. I love the way it’s incorporated into the story, but they pretty much made the sword worse since you can’t upgrade it like you could in BOTW and it’s worse by the fact that you have to either fuse something or just use another weapon that is better than it
master sword was never my main weapon anyway
it was scimitar of the seven fused with silver lynel horn
I love the Scimitar of the Seven and also just the fan service TOTK has with the Legendary weapons and even some of the armor sets
it is very neat
