Yes, I'm aware of the themes and everything new with it. I'm asking for help about making all my icons sync to the proper light or dark theme because as you can see, the icons do change color, just not the proper color for the current mode. When the phone is in dark mode some apps are in light. When I'm in light mode those same apps are in dark. That's my problem that I need help correcting.

I understand but they are working as they should. For the dark mode theme is applied to the background and the icon become dark and for the light mode theme is applied to the icons and the background is dark.
This is the best you can get for non-supported apps as this is the characteristics google applied for it. At least it's unified, This is the first iteration for non-supported apps, so they can surely take feedback from users like you.
TLDR: In light mode, dark background is applied on non-supported apps and in dark mode theme color background is applied and icon has dark color

Oh. I get it now, thank you. But is it only when Expanded mode is on? Because I turned it off hoping it'll go back to how it used to work which is: supported icons in sync with the current mode while the unsupported onse showing their normal, unthemed icons. I'd rather have that than what the screenshot is showing right now
